Bit disappointing for the price not as many patterns as I thought - looks lovely though! Wouldn’t bother purchasing

Excellent ideas and clear lay out re instructions. lovely lovely book
This is a lovely lovely book. So many squares to make and choose from with lots of ideas re colour ways and combos. A true delight. I am only just starting to knit and think I will be able to use the squares to consolidate and advance my skills. So very pleased with it. Cant wait to get started.

Good ideas, but pattern errors.
I took note of the reviews regarding the colour variation repeats of some of the squares so purchased with my eyes open!I think there are some good and interesting ideas.I only received it today but already noticed a pattern error. I am not sure how you commence a square following its first instruction:'Using colour A, Cast Off 61 sts..... ' !!!So best to check that the instructions make sense!I can understand some people's complaint about the colour variations being included in the 200 mentioned on the cover. It is interesting, however, to see how different a square can look when different colour combinations are used. As not everyone is confident about which colours might work together,or can visualise the finished work, I won't mark it down for that, as this is a useful resource. Also, all squares knit up to the same size if you use the same yarn, so that is really good.I think it is a good reference and am pleased with my purchase.

Good concept
Nicely produced and the ideas for block arrangement were good, but I had hoped for more block pattern ideas…

Make a family heirloom!
An inspired and tremendous book. It is beautifully and clearly illustrated. The instructions are excellent and backed up with photos and illustrations. It is mostly suitable for anyone who can knit plain/purl, cast on cast off; by using the grading you can work out which designs are for you. I am a reasonably confident knitter but have resisted 'lacey stuff'' which i now find unintimidating and i have learnt some new techniques - very useful. I have recommended it to several people one of whom is going to make a special quilt for her daughter to take to university ( daughter is eleven, so she is giving herself plenty of time!!).Buy it whatever your skills you will be challenged, relieved, and will learn new things even if it just unusual but beautiful colour schemes AND some great edging ideas.Blessings on you Jan Eaton for producing this exquisite book.
