This coffee is some of the best flavored I’ve ever had. It has a smooth, rich taste. My only wish is that it was sold in k-cups. I will definitely buy again.

I tried this black to see what flavors I might find, and I wasn't that surprised to see it tastes mostly like coffee, but ever-so-slightly more bitter than I'm used to. Not in a dark-roast way, but in a.. secondary flavor way.The caffeine content seemed on par with other coffee I drink. It was sufficient to wake me up for the day.I couldn't help but think of the opening scene to the second Sonic movie, where Robotnik (Jim Carrey) is trying to make coffee out of mushrooms and failing miserably. I had a good laugh about that while drinking this one.As for the effect on my energy from the mushrooms, I'm sad to say I didn't feel any more vitalized or energized than I normally do with regular coffee.As for the grind- I used with my percolator and it worked just fine with only a little grain getting through to the bottom of my cup.

I had my boyfriend test this at his workplace as they are located in Kennett Square, where this coffee originates from.He reported back if you normally drink your coffee black, you'll definitely notice an earthy/dirt flavor. One of his coworkers compared it to seeping a sock in coffee after working all day in the garden. They both noticed a strange mouth..coating..of some sort. However, with adding sugar and cream, it tasted 90% like normal coffee and was tolerable.

I hadn't heard much about mushroom coffee, bit since cordyceps are linked to some possible health benefits (anti-aging, heart health) I figured coffee would be the ideal way to try them out!When I opened the bag, it had a strong scent, a bit earthy. Never having had mushroom coffee before, I wasn't sure if it would be prepared the same as my regular coffee. I didn't find the directions on the bag helpful, so I did end up preparing as normal and I am glad I did! The coffee turned out rich, with a nice dark caramel coloring. It tastes just like regular coffee. I do prefer my coffees flavored with cream and sugar added. After the initial taste to see what I was getting into, I added my half and half, sweetener, and a bit of caramel flavoring. It took the additions well.I did not notice any additional energy boost to what I would normally experience with a cup of coffee, though for full disclosure, I do tend to ingest a lot of coffee and caffeine throughout the day. This will vary based on caffeine tolerance I'm sure.If you are going to try to incorporate mushrooms into your diet, I'd say this is the way to go.

I made this coffee by using a tablespoon in a reusable k cup. It is very very similar to the bold coffee I have been drinking from a warehouse club store. I did not find it bitter at all (though I do always drink my coffee black). The ingredients contain ground coffee beans, cordyceps mushrooms, and organic myceliated brown rice. Two things to note. First, the package expires in 8 months, so it is not a long expiration date. Second, it says that cordyceps mushrooms can "combat respiratory infections" and is a "natural protector against the common cold." While these statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, it sounds good enough to use in an office to help prevent sickness. Finally, the package has a zip top, but I found it very difficult to close because it had coffee grounds in it.

I got this because I thought it was instant coffee. It’s not very clear and the instructions aren’t clear either. I don’t have a coffee machine that can brew coffee so I can’t drink it.

I must be the odd one out, I usually find any coffee to be bitter but I thought this one was less so. I found it to be quite smooth. They say it has an earthy smell, yes it does, it slightly smells like dirt but that's only smelling it straight out of the bag, I didn't notice it at all after preparing it. Flavor to me was better than normal coffee. I'm not sure how you're supposed to be preparing this, it has a lot of fine particles and will clog up a regular coffee filter which causes a mess. You can just mix it with hot water directly and throw out what's left at the bottom, you'll get more flavor that way as well.
