Nifty little adapter for when someone giving training in an A/V environment needs this adapter combination. It's come in handy several times already.

Worked for 11 months
Used it with my surface pro 3 and it worked great for 11 months and then just quit one day in the middle of using it. I would have expected it to last longer than that especially considering I was always careful when unplugging it.

Great product for the price
What can I say? it works.I really like the size. The other adapter I have is larger so it does not fits under well under my Cooler Master NotePal U3. This one does.

NOT suitable for Microsoft Surface Book, but good device otherwise
This is an update to the StarTech MDP2VGA adapter - it's slightly larger than the old unit, but works just as well... Very straightforward to use...The only snag is that it's *NOT* compatible with the Microsoft Surface Book. Due to the size/thickness of the Mini DisplayPort connection, the male connector won't actually slide into the side of the Surface Book when the notebook is on a totally flat surface. The notebook itself needs to be raised ever so slightly to allow the connector to be inserted. And unless you keep the Surface Book raised, leaving the adapter connected risks damaging it (or the Surface Book) due to the pressure placed on it at rest.Avoid if you're using for the Surface Book. Go for the original StarTech MDP2VGA adapter instead, although this will cost more. If you're using on a Surface Pro or Surface Dock, though, then this adapter is fine.

I bought this as a replacement to the 2 year old screen-to-Surface-Pro attachment. This came well packed and worked perfectly. Can't really say more than that!
