A good quality hole puncher for bookbinding
If you’re looking for a good quality budget single hole puncher that won’t break easily, this will last a good while. My only nitpick is the ergonomic factor for long periods. That aside, the storage component for the sized tips are a handy feature.Remember to use on a cutting mat, and watch out for the tiny pieces of cut paper circles that will eventually fly out!

Punch holes anywhere, not confined to card edges. Cut/emboss. Handy even if no immediate use.
Very expensive but if, like me, you use it on cardstock or similar, it's a good compromise and saves on buying (and storing) a range of leatherworking punches.Takes only a few goes to get the knack of punching consistently. Firmly and briskly does it. As I have a weak wrist (old injury) I have the item to be punched on my table and I stand up to punch, so as to generate more downward force. I'm fond of this tool as it feels nicely gadgety :-)The product photos show the cutter ends are in a short tube; reviewer PenFriend unrealistically expected it to punch through a paper stack. You definitely need a cutting mat or similar or you will ruin your work surface. This is the best type of punch for placing holes anywhere, compared to hinge punches that work only by sliding onto card edges. And so much easier than using an awl to make a hole and gradually enlarge it.I like that the storage for the other chucks is in the handle, as I'd lose them otherwise! But I notice there's spare space inside so X-Cut could've added one more cutter. I like the fact that it stores neatly in a tool rack (particularly my leatherworking tool rack), handle upwards thus easy to take hold of.Handy to have even if you can't think of a use for it right now.I use this punch in papercrafting. Punches easily in cardstock of weight up to 300gsm, needs welly up to 400gsm. Construction card is too thick. Material that's very yielding due to its nature isn't suitable. If you lightly press using the punch you can emboss marker circles e.g. to make it easier to place nuvo crystal drops accurately in a pattern. When fussy-cutting text, depending on font and size, you can use this punch to add the holes to certain letters - easier and more consistent than using a craft knife.

Brilliant
Loved this device. So easy to use. I would suggest that you use the xcut resting on a scrap piece of cardboard box. My first use was on a self healing cutting board and it cut a neat little hole in the board. Subsequent use with some scrap card sorted that problem. Love the way the different cutting edges are stored safely in the handle. I'm absolutely delighted with this tool..

I decided it would be better to do it single page at a time
Worked very well, cut all the way through most of the time (my project required 2000+ holes), just doesn't work too well with more than two/three pages, I decided it would be better to do it single page at a time.
