I dont know why people said it was underwhelming??? But anyways i bought this as a christmas gift for my husband and he said he loved it yay~ i also looked through it with him myself and we were amazed. We can both draw and paint and instantly thought that this would be good to use as a reference

very good
really great arts but not a fun of covering both pages and the division looks funky

Gorgeous book, flawless condition
Amazon’s packaging when it comes to books is always totally abysmal, but this one managed to reach me in perfect condition. It’s bigger than I thought! It has a gorgeous glossy cover, and all the artwork is stunning. It isn’t Udon’s BEST art book, as the formatting seems sort of slapped-together with imagery on plain white or black backgrounds without any additional text or details. That’s really the only critique I can think of. I absolutely love the book, and I think it’s a must-have for any big fan of Elden Ring.

Not a good art book
I was very excited when I originally pre-ordered this book and very disappointed when I received it. Looking at the reviews here, it looks like several others felt similarly to myself, so I won't re-hash it all at length and instead provide a quick summary of what I felt the letdowns were.1. Formatting - many of the images in the book are landscape oriented across the center line of both pages. This just makes the imagery look poorer in quality and not as nice to look at.2. Image Style - most of the "art" in this book looked like a blend of drawings and in-game renders, which personally I did not enjoy.3. Image Selection - Elden Ring has a fantastic open world with colorful and vibrant environments. I was sad that most of the pictures did not focus on the open world and instead focused on the dreary dungeon/building scenery from the game.4. Color Palette - Similar to above, the open world is fairly bright and colorful even in a dart setting. The artwork in the book is largely dark and dreary, making it feel monotonous and tough to enjoy. That's all, perhaps these are my personal preferences getting the way but I just did not enjoy how they picked, designed, and showcased their art for this game in the book.

Vast collection of art but uncredited, lacking description, poorly formatted, and too dark overall.
I waited nearly a year for these to arrive, and when they did I was pretty let down by what seems to be a bare minimum effort. The 3 main issues, as stated by many other reviewers, are:1. Gutter/Spine of the book splits many of the images. Many of the most important details happen to be in the center, and it appears as if they formatted this book in Adobe Acrobat and didn’t bother to consider where the binding would be. The focal point of many of the large gorgeous images is skewed, and hard to read, therefore the image is…well, tarnished. It’s a real shame because some of these would have been better off just smaller and not split across two pages — a sacrifice in overall size for clarity.2. The darkness. If you’re trying to enjoy this book you really need to be in a well-lit environment — A hospital would be perfect with those fluorescent lights to be honest lol because man so many of these images are super dark, and the details are lost. This seems to not have been considered. Feels like it was all done online, and they didn’t do a test printing of it before they just printed the whole lot.3. Lack of information and credits. Zero write-ups or credits for the images is a disappointment. It doesn’t seem like they had a lot of pride in the end result of their product, and wanted to meet a deadline or something. It’s not a thoughtful compendium of art, it’s just…the bare minimum. Maybe I’m overdoing it on the criticism, but I’m a pretty huge fan, and this feels sort of disrespectful. That being said — I wouldn’t return it, but I’m glad I got it discounted. The book itself feels well-made. It’s nice to have and flip through occasionally, but it’s definitely a missed opportunity, and I hope that if they are hired for the DLC Art book that it’s a much more thoughtful publication. I understand that the size of the image makes a difference, and a book has a spine and that’s just how it is…but there’s gotta be a better way to format a lot of these images. Other than the formatting issues, it’s a pretty neat collection of art and if you love Elden Ring it’s great to have on the coffee table…provided you have some hearty high pressure sodium surgical lights above you when you want to catch the details lol.

A Beautiful But Flawed Book
I was one of the lucky ones who received both books in good condition. The pictures are a bit on the dark side but still 100% viewable. I haven't noticed any blurry pics like some other reviewers have stated. However, there are far too many pics that are split because they cover two pages. Some reviewers have also stated that the book contains simple screenshots, which isn't true at all. Most, if not all, pics are hand drawn. The cover of the book is glossy and beautiful, and very thick. Page binding is also strong. It is disappointing that the book contains almost zero descriptions, but the sections of the book are labeled and some pics have the location names. This is the same format as the Designworks books minus the artist interviews.Overall, I'm happy with this purchase, especially considering I didn't pay full price. Is it worth $50? No, but it's a solid deal at $30.
