Von Martius. the Book of Palms.

This is the essential must-have book for anyone interested in Palms. I mean, imagine if it weren't?I was in the Bahamas recently and stayed at the British Colonial Hotel, which had recently been renovated. Lovely. In the lobby, I sipped iced tea from a very cushy sofa while delighting in the arrangement of premium cuiosities & books on the Coffee table. This was my first encounter with the Book of Palms.Honestly, let's start with someone took the time to write a book about Palms – and his name was Karl Friedrich Philipp von Martius. Apparently he was "The Father of Palms". Of course this was before DNA testing, so who really knows. I'll say this: The cover is nice.I bought one for myself and another for a coworker—because nothing says “Welcome to the neighborhood” like a book that’ll make them question your sanity. The quality of the book is great – and the heft and impressive page count really imply that you're way into palms. Now, both our homes have that breezy, palm-life vibe. Total win. Also, speaking for myself, I don't think I've ever opened it. Cracking the spine would detract from the aesthetic.

Well worth the price even if you just want an unusual coffee table book.

This is the small version of this book (it also comes in a larger size). A great piece to put at the top of a book stack. The cover is so pretty and has a tropical vibe. The images inside are also very stunning. Would recommend.

Did not notice the smaller size when I ordered it. Would have preferred the larger one, but this one is a wonderful addition.

This is a very nice coffee table book. Just check the measurements if you are looking for a larger book as this one is more like the top of the stack kind of size.It has lovely photos and the cover is quite nice. Made an awesome addition to my table as it fits perfectly into my coastal cottage style.

With a recent move to Florida, I had hopes that this would be a great identification guide. The illustrations are nice, but not really as informative as I thought.

Reviews said this was in multiple languages. Was not sure what that meant. The botanical plates have English captions. The narrative pages are entirely in German.

Llego súper rápido y perfectamente embalado. Sin desperfectos. Viene en 3 idiomas pero no en castellano aunque no es un problema eso para mí.

Little to no information on growing, identification and propagation. Just heaps of illustrations.
