Working with the Lunar Cycles
I will admit- I am a bit biased. This was one of the first books I found in my local library when I was just a young girl interested in Wicca. That was seven years ago and this book still remains one of my favorites of all my books on lunar magic and ritual. This is not a traditional book that focuses on any one culture or pantheon. If you belong to a particular pagan tradition and are not eclectic then you will not find this book to be of much use. If you are looking for a book that focused on the phases of the moon (i.e, waxing, waning, third quarter, fourth quarter) or various astrological aspects (Moon conjunct Venus, Moon in Taurus) this book is not for you.Instead, this a book that utilizes a myriad of various traditions, cultures, and magical paths to showcase various aspects of the lunar year and bring depth and understanding to your path. This books focuses on the Esbats, on the celebration of the full moon throught the year and how you may further structure your spellwork and rituals to tap into a deeper understanding of the Goddess. In my opinion, this is far from a "Gotta catch 'em all" book whose main goal is to pilfer from as many spiritual tradtions as possible. Instead, its purpose is to show the reader various archetypes and myths, how, while appearing different on the surface, many traditions, cultures, races, and ethnicities-both past and present- still venerate the Goddess in all of Her forms. While there are many cultural and historical nuances between Wicca and other traditions, they both have much to learn from each other. Each month includes the following information:-Various names of that current month's moon, such as Wolf Moon, Spring Moon, Cold Moon, Winter Moon-A list of various pagan holidays for that month form a wide variety of different cultures-A description of that moon's monthly energy-A list of correspondences-Old sayings and lore, little blurbs of folklore-Culinary recipes for teas, condiments, sandwiches, desserts, ect.-Crafts, including bath salts, herbal mixtures, and potpourri-Brief descriptions of various myths, deities, and spirits-Rituals, meditations, and spellsAll in all, I recommend those who are more ecclectic, be them Wiccans, witches, pagans, or old souls. If you are looking for an effective Esbat guide to structure your monthly celebrations and spellwork, then this is the book for you.

Not bad but definitely not written for ones further north where the moon isn't always visible

Worth a read.
Filled with lots of info not just on magic but on history. It's a bit repetitive and at times the writer keeps plugging other books or the publisher. The craft section I could take or leave since like other books it requires not to simple to find items.
