I cannot praise this book highly enough!
This is an intriguing picture book for an older child or adult. I have the portfolio edition and every picture would be worth framing but where it really comes into its own is as a teaching resource.I'm a supply teacher and this book has already become an essential part of my supply bag. The pictures, titles and captions inspire wonderful speaking and listening, imaginative thought and sensitive art work. My pupils love working with this book and so do I. If I had one class full time I think we could base and entire half-terms' literacy, art, DT and music on this book and never get bored.Children today often find it difficult to relax and use their imaginations (too much tv, too many computer games, too worried about wrong answers)but this book inspires them.

Brilliant Resource For Teachers!
Came across this book a while ago and have been after a copy for a while. This particular item is the portfolio edition, in other words roughly A3 sized pictures on cardboard with a mysterious caption for each one underneath. The drawings are superb and each caption makes you ask all sorts of questions, sparking off a million thoughts in your imagination as to what the story could be. A truly fantastic resource for teachers as a writing stimulus for children in KS2, and the good thing about these is that you can trim half a centimetre of each side and laminate them in A3 pouches to keep them looking really excellent. I've used them several times already and the children love them and find them really helpful in giving them ideas of what to write about. This is so excellent I'm even contemplating buying a second set and getting each one framed!

Excellent resource in the classroom
An excellent resource for helping children cultivate creative writing! I use it for my English classes and they love it so much that I even bought one for my niece!

Inspiring creative writing
Superb for inspiring creative writing without words. The pictures are quite sinister and should only be used by aged 9 upwards but are brilliantly drawn.

Amazing
Just the title made me want to buy this, and I am not disappointed. The pictures are amazing- you keep finding things to 'spot'. I bought this without knowing anything about the author and am now hooked. I am using it to generate story ideas for children in school. A fantastic book to 'read' with a child , even though there are no words as whilst they are describing the drawings and telling you ideas they are , in effect, telling you a story. A little bit creepy and sinister too which keeps the older children interested !

Great sketches
and inspirational. The back story makes for a fine mystery. But doesn`t go anywhere. Was expecting more to be honest.. Still worth the money.. But just don`t expect a deep read - took me about 3 minutes..
