Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert's Story

She's a funny girl!
Story is about a shy college girl that doesnβt like social situations and is happy in her own world. Her perfect date night is everybody doing their own thingβworks for me. I could relate. I, too, was always the quiet one in class that likes to read rather than socialize. Iβd rather party with a book than with people.Story is pretty good until you get to all the wedding planning stuff. Funny how she ends marrying an extrovert, which can be helpful as you have a buffer right there in social situations.I kind of thing that the girl panics too much and just needs to chill out more. But she funny though.

Introverts, be yourselves!
This graphic novel left me with the warm fuzzies. Iβve been trying to look for books about QuietGirlInANoisyWorldintroversion versus extroversion, both for reference in caring for introverted children and those that can help them better understand themselves. As the author alludes, most social institutions favor extroverts over introverts. This book falls into the βunderstand yourselfβ category.Tungβs experience in school, where the teacher insists that she need to βcome out of her shellβ is one I experienced in my own childhood. Even now, while Iβm in the classroom, I worry more about the quiet students. It isnβt a bad thing to worry about them, but I should be more aware of how I am making them feel about their personalities and social tendencies. The actual content of the novel illustrated different social tendencies and insecurities the author has had over her introverted nature. By the end of the novel, the author has illustrated how she learned more about her personality type and βtook a standβ to accept herself and carve her own path in a career that worked for her. I also liked how she talked about her self-care practices to let her βrecharge her batteriesβ.This is a book I would like to include in my classroom library, and maybe if we had a unit that focused on finding yourself or celebrating differences.

Perfect gift or afternoon of reading for introverts and people that want to understand introverts. My 13-ye-old daughter and I are both introverts. As my daughter said βthis book is relatableββwe laughed out loud!

Honest, Self-Deprecating and Funny
Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert's Story is a brilliant autobiography of the introverted author, Debbie Tung, as she learns to negotiate her way in an extrovert's world. She's in graduate school when it starts, working on her dissertation. She enters "adulthood", and lands her first job, while wondering in what direction she should take her life. Each page (or sometimes two) contains its own story, and each story rings true. She starts out filled with self-doubt, and the desire to please others. Most of the time what she'd like best is being home with a hot mug of tea and a good book. Sound familiar?Tung is honest, self-deprecating and funny. She's also enormously likeable. There's a gradual recognition that she's not alone in being an introvert, and she develops a freedom as she finds ways to balance the different parts of her life and how she wants to approach them. I loved every bit of this one.

I looooved it!!!!
I did the MBTI test few weeks ago and was surprised to find out that I am an INTJ... being and introvert and surrounded by people who don't really understand me (or trying to) always made me feel awkward, not normal, unfit... but reading this comics helped me to feel more comfortable in my shoes and somehow confident that things will work out... as long as I accept and embrace my inner self. Thanks a lot for this amazing journey Debbie and looking forward to reading more of you great work! Best of luck!

βοΈβοΈBask in the glory of this fitting reflection on being an introvert! βοΈβοΈ
This books is a graphic novel depicting the different scenarios and feels of an introvert and I honestly felt the author was pulling my feelings and moods out onto the page. It fit me so perfectly. This book follows Debbie, an intensely introverted individual who deals with life and love like more struggling introverts do; one moment at a time with the space in between social interactions to recharge. This books had me laughing out loud at how ironically fitting this book is to so many of my own thought processes. I feel like this book is so perfectly open and honest regarding the internal conflict every introvert goes through and it's wonderful. ALL INTROVERTS SHOULD READ THIS BOOK AND BASK IN ITS GLORY.I adored this book and all of its perfection and highly recommend.

Love this bookβ€οΈ
I absolutely love this book, and admire Debbie Tung for writing itπ I am an HSP-INFJ as well and our stories are very similar, seeing someone else going through the very same struggles I have and getting through it is empowering and I couldnβt thank her enough. Would recommend to all INFJβs as well as any introvert trying to figure themselves out, or feel like they arenβt alone in this. Your normal! And awesome just the way you are ππ»ππ»
