Bowled over
My husband bought me the bowling ball for my birthday. It is well weighted, and has finger inserts for smaller hands. I liked the bright blue colour. The ball hinges and opens in half, the Wii remote is inserted, and then buttons on the ball simply press levers down on to the equivalent button on the remote.I thought that it would feel very odd nod to be able to let go of the ball, but I adjusted to that very quickly. It certainly enhanced the bowling experience.

Authentic ball
This wii ball gives an authentic feel to bowling. Open the ball, insert the wii remote. It is not heavy and there are rubber finger inserts to ensure a good fit to your hand. We like these and it gives an addictive feel to playing bowling on the wii.

Wii bowling
It is very realistic while playing. My six year old had difficulty assembling it: after trying myself, i found the assembling time consuming. No problems if you play only bowling. Overall, it is fine.

A good idea, but needs practice and perseverance
This was a present for my 10 year old grandaughter who loves the Wii bowling games. My middle finger has a slightly swollen first knuckle so I could not demonstrate to her how to use it to get best results. My grandaughter found the controls difficult to find - they're all the same color and have tiny embossed letters. Using the controls was also difficult with the fingers of her right hand in the holes and having to adapt to pointing the ball (if you've ever tried to "point a ball" at something you'll see the conceptual difficulties immediately). And because of these difficulties she often forgot to use the safety strap. So this ball poses problems for the younger customers and for older customers without slim fingers. But the little use I did get out of it, and the results that eventually came easier to my grandaughter, show that this is really a good idea - but for whom. I would say it would be great for regular bowlers looking for better feel than they can get with just the controller in their hands. Better marking of the buttons, slightly larger holes (note that the finger wraps provided cater for smaller fingers), and better positioning of the holes to facilitate pointing the ball to use the control functions, would all be substantial pragmatic improvements to a fundamentally good idea. Build quality is good - the two halves of the ball fit together tightly once you get the knack of finding the right way to do it quickly.
