Q: In the reviews some say this is a quality heavier cup and others say it is quite lightweight. Will somebody clarify this?

As an object it is quite lightweight (not being glass) but it is of sturdy construction and well made. Like a heavy duty picnic drinking cup.

Q: Does the whole top come off the soap dispenser for re-filling or is it only the pump which unscrews?

Hello there, no the top is not removable. I bought two - to go in the bathroom for shampoo & conditioner. I have tried using a bottle brush when I clean them, but to no avail. Then purely by accident I must have twisted the top, because it came off in my hand and I discovered it had gone rusty and gunky underneath the lid. I'm now looking at another type of bottle. I won't be buying these again. Hope this helps
