IDEAL FOR THE HOBBYIST.
I am a hobbyist and not an experienced electrician and this is my initial impression as I have only owned the product for a few days. Until now I have made do with wall socket PSu's to power my projects, so the Eventek bench supply is my first supply of this type. My first impressions are that it is ideal for an hobbyist and the advantage over a wall socket PSU is obvious. The unit appears to be solidly engineered and is compact with a small footprint. The voltage range 0 - 30 volts is more than sufficient for my purposes, and the 0 - 10 amp rating is also sufficient. My initial check confirms that the output is stable. Others have questioned the quality of the leads, but for my usage I think they are OK. The fine adjustment controls enables spot on selection of parameters and the display is very clear. Many other bench supplies are very much more expensive than this product, which I consider to be excellent value for money. Overall I am very impressed with the quality of this product and for the hobbyist it comes highly recommended.

Does exactly what I need
The media could not be loaded. I needed a stable 12 V - 24 V power supply for a project. It worked straight out of the box. Very easy to set the voltage and choose your current limit and allowed me to finish my project. Only had it two days but it has worked brilliantly so far.

Compact, useful power supply
Compact power supply with a useful voltage (0 to 30V) range and according to the manual, a maximum current of 10A. I haven't yet tested the maximum voltage obtainable at 10A but it does pull 10A under the current limit test (i.e. by shorting the output terminals) and measuring the current. Very disappointed in how the item arrived. Unit was sent only in it's product box which is quite flimsy cardboard. On arrival, it was obvious what the item was and the box was well bashed and torn. However to my amazement it survived with no damage and worked OK. Just think it was bad to send this type of item in such a weak box. Tested the unit across the voltage range. The voltage output is pretty smooth when viewed on a oscilloscope, although the voltage display becomes less accurate as the voltage is increased. At 1.0V, 9.0V, 15.0V, 20.0V & 30.0V the unit output is 1.00V, 8.77V, 14.51V, 19.35V & 29.0V. So at it's maximum displayed output of 31.0V the measured output is actually about 1V less at exactly 30.0V (no load). I'd have expected the display to be a little better than this but I guess the unit is low cost. The cooling fan only comes on at >=50C so haven't tested that yet. The output terminals do not look that strong but with care should last. The output terminals do accept 4mm banana plugs (not included) which I would recommend purchasing as the cable fixings supplied are fiddly to fit. My unit arrived with a three pin UK plug. Overall I'm pleased with the item. It is good value. Don't expect a high end power supply but for general home use at reasonable current loads it works OK. I cannot comment on it's performance under high current loads as I didn't purchase it for that reason. A few amps is all I really require across the voltage range.

Good all round, compact piower supply.
Brilliant all round high power supply. Compact but can run high amps and not even get warm. Supplied with two sets of crocodile leads which would have been nice if they were a bit longer. Use mine for electronic projects and supplying bolts to a Perspex bender I have made.

Eventec power supply.
Great bit of kit, got it to do some electro platting, worked perfectly.

Faulty in 3 months, short circuit
In under 3 months this faulted short, taking out breakers. It can not cope with inrush current.

Works well
I bought this to provide controlled power for my (inexperienced) efforts to create electronic projects. So far it has worked perfectly and I feel confident in using it. It is reasonably weighty and gives the impression of being very well built and rugged. I would have preferred banana plugs for the leads, rather than the fiddly lugs provided, but that is very minor in my overall favourable view of this power supply. Another plus is its very reasonable price.

I simply LOVE it. Small
I simply LOVE it. Small, light, yet tremendously powerful, and (how shall I put it otherwise ?) gracious controls. Gorgeousity in a box.I did replace the supplied cables with others more suitable for my work, but this was my personal option.I've had in the past variable power supplies, twice the size, half the power and (at least) ten times as heavy, so I do know the difference :)

Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Good enough.
To allow for doing experiments using more power I bought two of these. I did understand there was no setting up, you have to start from zero and increase voktage and amps till you are happy, nor any way of switching that setting on or off except switching the whole thing on and off. I have not measured if it will produce any bad glitches when switched on. Not planning to use these ones to power cpus anyway, so not worried. I have done a quick power test using a 12 V heated fan. All settings on max I got 9.5 volts and 9.5 Amps (same on both of them), which is ok, but I was hoping for a bit more. Might look around for one more that can produce more power. All in all happy with the purchase, but it has compromises. Good price performance, but as a power supply for the lab it is lacking some features. I was aware, and have better ones when I need more control.
