A couple of months ago a friend of mine had the carabiner link on his BlackRapid sling strap break,So, I have bought these tethers for use with the two sling straps I use. Although I wouldn't be confident to hang my gear off them alone for long, they are reasonably well made and I'm sure they'd prevent it crashing to the floor if the strap's main link ever snaps.They have a separate carabiner that runs along the strap next to the BlackRapid one, and a tough-seeming cord that loops from there to one of the camera's strap lugs. So far it hasn't interfered in any way with normal use of my strap.The screw fastener on the carabiner seems secure, although I've taken one star off my score because the edges of the screw collar are slightly rough, and this might fray a cord over time. I ran over mine to smooth them with a fine file.The cord is easily long enough for use with my Olympus E-M1ii with the 300mm f4 telephoto and a teleconverter mounted, including with the BlackRapid strap mounted on the lens' tripod foot.I'm sure it would actually also be OK with a big full frame DSLR and fairly long lens carried in the same way (although whether the cord would hold such a weight is up to others to judge!).Hope this helps (and with new BR sling straps costing £50 - £70 it should! You can't just renew the carabiner on the type of BR strap I've got, although that might be possible with more recent ones).

I keep an L-Bracket permanently attached to my camera and use an Arca-Swiss plate to connect my BlackRapid strap to the L-Bracket. Decided that a failsafe would be good to have so I ordered these. Really simple to install and gives me that extra peace of mind.

Do what it says, I feel my camera safer, and like to use.

Have bought these as a back up in case my main camera to strap fitting fails. They look like they will do the job and seem good value for the money

The length of the tether line is not given in the product description, but as Amazon indicates that it is frequently ordered in conjunction with a cross body camera strap I assumed it was of adequate length, but in my opinion it isn’t.The quality of the tether line isn’t great - one of the pack of two showed signs of fraying when I opened the package and the carabiner is OK but again not particularly good quality. Overall a disappointing purchase. I had hoped for something a little better engineered. Though it serves it’s purpose, I wouldn’t order this particular item again.

It will suffice as a failsafe but I wouldn’t puch much faith in it to hold professional equipment for too long.

Le doy una estrella porque no le puedo dar ninguna para escribir la valoración. Compré este artículo para mi segunda cámara (trabajo con dos) porque tengo uno similar que me regalaron y que compraron también en amazon, pero ya cuando llegó vi que el cordón era bastante más fino y el termosellado estaba peor terminado.Lo estrené el sábado con el resultado que véis, la cámara se soltó del arnés y el supuesto cable de seguridad se partió = miles de euros en equipo fotográfico se fueron al suelo. Gracias a Dios fue sobre césped y llevaba la lente protegida con el parasol así que, quitando el susto que me llevé, no ha habido consecuencias. Sólo recomiendo su compra si tienes algún fotógrafo en la familia/amigos que te caiga mal y quieres que le dé un infarto cuando se le rompa la cámara. En serio, es una basura.

Pour info, le metal qui compose les mousquetons n'est pas traité, il est brut et n'a aucun revetement, donc une fois visé il est tres difficile a deviser, meme si on les sert pas beaucoup, on a l'impression qu'il se visse tout seul pendant la journée, et le soir, quand on veux le devisser, il faut carrement des pinces multiprises

Zur Absicherung der Kamera mit Objektiv.Gut das es gleich zwei sind, so kann manauch die Backup-Kamera sofort sorgenfrei einsetzen.Bisher ist mir noch keine Kamera vom Gurt gefallen, aber schön wenn das teure Zeug doppelt abgesichert ist.Die Qualität des Produktes ist vollkommen ausreichend, ich glaube das würde auch 50kg halten.Der Preis ist vollkommen okay.Nichts besonderes aber empfehlenswert.

I bought these because the tether that came with one of my straps recently broke. These feel relatively sturdy. I'm not sure they are quite as sturdy as another tether I bought months ago for my other camera, but they feel very close. I think they are pretty good quality for the price seeing as how you get two of them. I may update my review once I've had a chance to really try them out and put them to the test.
