STANLEY XTHT0-33501 FATMAX Autolock Tape, 8m Metric Only, Yellow/Black

As a professional have had several tape measures and find this Fatmax to be the best. On my second one now. The first lasted about 18 months of daily use. It's still works but is quite tatty and worn so only get used in wet / dirty conditions to preserve the new one. Positives: quility build, great standout length, autolock feature, comfortable to use, easy to read, strong magnet. Negatives: autolock creeps at longer extensions. Belt clip is awkward to use. At this price point would be nice to have dual scale. I.e measurements on both sides of the tape, but it doesn't.

Excellent tape measure, nice and sturdy and love that it doesn't retract without switching to retract button. The two accessory blades are great, the magnetic blade is very strong and works very well, the hook over blade might have worked well but it fell off at some point was lost. The accessory holder slots could be improved to enable the accessory blades to be held securely when not in use.

This tape was strong and durable. Groundworks is not an easy environment for humans or most tools, but this tape lasted well. I tend to wipe clean of if I can to avoid dirt buildup in the housing, so this helps with longevity. The lock mechanism feels strong, the blade seems strong and I love having ONLY METRIC on this as you always have that moment where you want to put a mark on something and it’s the wrong side of the tape! I’ve only just got this purchase as I “misplaced” my last so hoping it will last well.

I'm am happy with the quality of this product, and love the metric only aspect the most. Maybe either give a magnet with the tape measure or explain better how to replace the front addon.

Great robust tape measure, which comes with an interchangeable magnetic head which was stiff to remove or place at first but the more you use it the easier it becomes. One minor issue if you can call it that this model only comes in metric measurement.

Great tape! I've had a lot of cheap tapes over the years, and this just shows you get what you pay for. I've been using this tape for 7 months now and it's still going strong. The magnet is strong on it, holding the tapes weight when hung from an RSJ (even though I'm sure thats not what it's intended for). I found the changeable end a little superfluous, but perhaps thats just because I didn't have a use for it and ultimately lost it. All round a good metric only tape that lasts! Would buy again.

Love that it only has metric. It makes it much easier to read than tapes that have inches too. Not cheap but well made and good to use. One gripe - the mark on the tape body that shows the body width is in inches. That's mental for a metric only ruler.

The tape is weighty and built reasonably well. It has clear markings (Metric ONLY) It has a strong magnet to aid measuring from magnetic surface e.g. radiator to far wall (nice touch) The locking function is just not strong enough to keep the tape from recoiling, all be it slowly but definitely frustrating. And please can somebody with more intelligence than me, explain why the dimension of the tape body has been stamped on in INCHES on a METRIC only tape. Makes internal measurements a tad inaccurate. In short, I would not recommend this product, it isn't cheap and I feel for the price the poor locking function and IMPERIAL body measurement lets it down!
