Flash Drive with Lighting for iPhone,iPad and Mac, 64GB Apple MFI Certified Flash Drive, Apple iOS Flash Drive, USB 3.0 Connector, External Storage Memory Expansion Stick- Zinc Alloy

My 16GB iPhone was almost overflowing, with more than 7000 photos and about 300 videos, and I was already paying for extra iCloud storage, so I thought this flash drive would allow me to free up space on my phone, and would be great for storing my photos on. Sadly, I’m not very techy and I bought an inappropriate product for my own use.I thought I would be able to transfer individual photos (from the 7000+ on my 16gb iPhone) onto the flash drive, and then plug the USB end of the drive into my Windows 10 laptop..... so I could sort the photos into folders on the laptop and put them onto a CD, to send to someone. I read the included user instructions, and I plugged the drive into my phone. The app (user manual) downloaded immediately when I touched “Allow”, but still I could not fathom out how to do what I hoped to do. This was my problem though, and not a problem with the device.I contacted the seller and he said I must be using Apple’s iCloud service, which means that all the photos on my phone are thumbnails - hence I cannot back them up directly. He advised me to close the iCloud function for my photos (my son told me how to do that), then to put the flash drive into my iOS device, and choose ‘back up photos’. As I said, I’m not techy, I couldn’t do it - and I’m afraid I gave up.My son tried to help me, but he explains things so fast that I can’t take it in. He’s an Apple addict and it’s easy to him, but I’d lost heart and gave up. I eventually gave the flash drive to my son, and left my photos where they are! My son says it downloads quickly, and I think he (or his kids) use it mainly as a storage device. But, hopefully, this review (with the advice the seller gave me), will mean something to someone, and they will have more success than I had. I think the flash drive probably deserves five stars, but I can only (honestly) say “I like it”, as opposed to “I love it”.

I will get straight to the point.1. Product description is a blanket statement which is misleading. I had to read from a previous comment that it doesn’t support iPhone 8 and above. This should be in the main description.2. I will possibly have to return both as my iPhone is iPhone6 which will get upgraded soon. I have purchased two which I will have to send back due to incompatibility.The product is nice but becomes redundant if I cannot load my files into my PC.I look forward to confirmation before I arrange a return. But if you do have a product that has clear description, let me know please

I'm re-writing my original review as I had written that this didn't work I have managed to save 40gb of my iTunes tracks on this flash drive. It has worked and I'll probably get another one as a spare. Changed my rating from 1 to 4 stars.

At last an easy way to remove photos and documents from my iPad. The app is a little bit clunky and the instruction manual could do with some more explicit guides on how to do certain functions but still a useful piece of equipment once you get the hang of it.

Big disappointment. The iphone app was clunky, badly designed, with typos in places and badly translated from Chinese. The app manual is hard to understand. The pack was almost entirely in Chinese and, in spite of checking beforehand, it seems it is incompatible with Windows - I can't get my my PC to recognise it. It also seems slower than the brand name lightning flash drive I had before (and sadly lost). I've spent the best past of an hour trying get it to sync, googling solutions, etc and now given up. I'll be returning it.

Got it as X-mas present for my wife, she used it once, all good so far. Arrived promptly. Nice, slim design and metal chassis. The only minor issue, it gets quite hot when attached to a comp via USB. This doesn't affect the performance as far as I can see. So 5 stars now, will see how things develop in the future.

Delivery was prompt and extremely well packaged. Item itself appears to be of good quality and more than fit for purpose; download the app and works straight out of the box.

This has to be one of my best item, very handy as my iPhone memory was nearly full, now with this I can save all my videos and photos on this usb. Very easy to use and product feels very high standard
