I have moved from using Arduino products to ESP32 and found it to be a much faster and as easy to program. This kit has everything needed to get a good start learning to use ESP32 devices.

I really like this kit, since it provides a gpio extender that, if used, makes the esp32 dev board breadboard friendly. The gpio extender solves the problem of this esp32 being too wide to straddle the center rail in a breadboard. First, I bought this esp32 brand without a kit. I tested it and its camera and was very pleased. I chose to buy a spare esp32, and chose to buy it with this kit. I was very satisfied with what I got.

Got this mainly for the ESP32-S3-WROOM device. After first using it I was very impressed with the capability of this unit. I have used a few other ESP32-Cams, but none could compare with this device. It has much more usable memory (8G PSRAM), so its faster and produces image with a higher resolution than the rest. This unit also includes built-in serial-USB controller unit so no extra device needed to connect to the computer. Also using it as regular ESP32 devise it has as much GPIO pins as regular ESP32, unlike other units which has less pins available, even when not using the camera. Finally I know that if I have issues that I cannot resolve I can always turn to their support (support@freenove.com) team. I have past experience in consulting with their support team in some other projects and I find them very helpful. Not only will they try to resolve the problem, they also suggest other alternative and options to try. So overall, I will always use this device as my first option in any a new project.

The media could not be loaded. This is my first developers board. The sample projects make each feature simple.I did have some problems getting the camera to work, and contacted Freenove via email. Right from the very first response, she looked deep into the issue, gave detailed instructions with links to samples specific to my issue, and a list of pertinent questions to better understand.In the end, the issues were all mine, but she kept with me to help me resolve all of them. I've never learned so much on one support exchange!I notice even the dev module pin numbering system has an edge over the competition: each pin corresponds to the same number GPIO! I know that sounds obvious, but you'll feel me some other boards don't so this, so you're left with constantly converting pin number to GPIO number. So simple, but it was done with us in mind.I was cautious about buying from Freenove since I had not heard of them. Now, I'm a solid Freenove fan.
