but the character development and thriller-esque tone to the comic is brilliant and compliments the series nicely
A very dark and sexy comic. To be honest, I did start reading it because of the Netflix TV series, but the character development and thriller-esque tone to the comic is brilliant and compliments the series nicely. I really like Jessica's character and whilst the tale has its origins in dark romance and mind powers, the sci-fi fantasy aspects of the story are more underplayed in the comic. A good one from Marvel.

you are going to be disappointed! This is the first in the Jessica Jones
For those who've seen the Netflix series and are hoping that this continues on, you are going to be disappointed! This is the first in the Jessica Jones:Alias series and comprises of comics 1-9.The stories inside are very fast paced and flesh out Jessica's character well. The artwork inside is interesting too.

I kind of prefer the TV show...
Call me a philistine but I think I prefer the to show a bit more. I don't know how but it just seems more "real". I don't know if this is just because it's the first comic/graphic novel I've read for over 10 years, but the characters seem to just be dropped in for the sake of it (in the comic). I get it, it's in the Marvel universe. But can we not focus on Jessica, rather than how she is having to run between other Marvel characters like some kind of spare part to find some random dude. She deserves more attention than this!

Magnificent
Absolutely amazing! Lovely start and very enjoyable art style, one not my favourites. Story does take you into shocking moments, as you think the story wouldn't delve so deep into the marvel universe, very enjoyable

... few covers are painted by David Mack (so are like the front cover)
Please be aware that just few covers are painted by David Mack (so are like the front cover). The comic inside is very different. Just standard.

I’m not sure about this...
It’s just I’ve never read a JJ graphic novel before so unlike someone like Batman I know what I should expect but I’ve only seen JJ on Netflix......usually I’ll ‘score’ a graphic novel/comic by 2 things: Artwork and Storyline. The storyline is ok so far enough to get me reading more. The artwork is substandard. I’m very unimpressed by it. Jessica in a lot of it looked like a guy and the mouths were too big. I’m an artist myself and believe I could’ve done better. To sum it up it’s worth a read but expect to be unimpressed with the artwork.

Gumshoe!
Hard hitting and a compelling look at a heroine not quite at the top!

Gritty, with a good heart
That is what i like about Jessica Jones: tough as nails, but a heart big like the world, a great combination. the story is well built, well paced and a good rump.

O quase monocromatismo versus o super-heróis supercoloridos

Gripping and fantastically written
Bendis' writing here brings the character of Jessica Jones to life in a way that is both immediate and refreshing; this isn't an everyday superhero story, it's anything but. The character is compelling in a way few are able to be, and the story woven around her is excellent.Michael Gaydos' art in these pages is stunning; an excellent use of striking colours helps bring this world to life, not to mention the expert work on the panels of the story; set up in such a way to entice and retain suspense.

Solid read
This first book introduces Jessica Jones: an ex-Avenger turned private investigator who seems to live on the fringe of the Marvel universe.Bendis does an amazing job of creating a character that is complex, interesting and more human than the average super hero. Jessica Jones in many ways is in awe of the fantastic world of heroes around her and feels she doesn't live to their standards even though we the reader can clearly see she is at least a good guy if not a hero. There's guest appearances by many of your favorite Marvel super heroes as Jessica goes from case to case.Check out Alias and meet Jessica Jones for yourself. It is an experience to remember
