Back Backboard Plus+ - (Silver) The Fully Adjustable Lumbar/Chair Support or in Car with Cool Pad Relief

I’ve had a chronic lower back issue stemming from a bulging disc I suffered 20+ years ago. Over the years, I have tried several products that provide lumbar support while sitting at my desk and in the car to alleviate some of the lower back pain & stiffening. Most of the pillow, wire mesh, etc. supports I have tried work OK to provide support and relief, but they wear out or provide less support after a few months of regular use. When a friend of mine recommended trying the Backboard product, I expected it to work for awhile, but wear out after a few months of regular use. I put the product in my Jeep Wrangler this summer where it received an enormous amount of use & abuse with my repeated in/out, bouncing around off-road, etc. However, after ~6 months of regular use in my Jeep (see photo), this thing is still providing the same level of support it did when I first purchased it - awesome!The board is also customizable to the level of curve/support you want to give your back. Some products I’ve used in the past impose too much curve to the back support and ended up hurting my back more than helping it. With the Backboard, I would recommend doing small adjustments until you find the right level of support.

I have used the Back backboard in my car (I do a lot of carpool driving, etc.) and it has really been helpful. It takes a little time to get accustomed to but I really think it helps me retain a better posture while driving. Driving was a frequent irritant to my hip and back pain.

Not as much of a curve in the board as I expected for lower back support, but ok for car.

I actually bought the Backboard Plus for my office chair, which has some lumbar support but with a somewhat narrow mesh back, it's not quite as rigid as I'd like. However, the shape of the seat didn't provide a solid enough base for the backboard, and the elastic strap was too stretchy to hold it in place. Although this was disappointing, I decided to try it in my car, where I've been using a lumbar pillow in addition to the built-in, adjustable support in the seat itself. With some creative bending of the backboard, and with the elastic strap holding it firmly in place, I now sit up straighter and don't have a tendency to slouch or sit at an angle. I have both scoliosis and arthritis in my spine (plus I'm short, which adds a separate layer of challenges), and for years it's been difficult for me to maintain a safe and comfortable posture when driving. This simple and inexpensive device has made long-distance driving comfortable again! I'm very pleased with it, even though it didn't work as I'd originally intended.

This board is an excellent aid to improve correct posture and give the best support necessary to relieve back pain. I wish Amazon carried it in black as well. I now have two but I would purchase two more if they came in black.

I have always had bad posture and since my knee replacement it's gotten worse and causes sleep problems. I just received this and so far I feel very comfortable with it. It arrived in a timely manner and in good condition.

This is the right balance of firm/flexible. I have used this for a year in my car and in my home. I’m about to buy my second one, which brings me to my only criticism: the two foam pieces are glued together around a wire frame. After about six months or average use, the seams have come apart exposing the wire. It’s longevity is the only reason for taking away one star. For the price point, I think it should hold up at least a year.
