An excellent floor cleaner for my Lino floors
This is a really well made, sturdy item. I had however missed the fact that the top section needs batteries, so worth noting. It comes with a variety of pads for polishing, buffing, scrubbing. It’s easy to set up and operate, just switch the bottom part lamp on with your foot, and press the on button at the top and you’re away! I have had really good results on my Lino floors. I also like the fact that the water spray is something you operate yourself rather than the detergent coming through the machine as you can control how much you use and are less restricted in terms of what you can put in it. Eg I like to use zoflora. The motorised heads work well and do a good job, and unlike manual spray mops, take the effort scrubbing away, though you may have to revisit areas again with tougher bits of mess. I can get pretty close to doing corners but as the pads are round they’re never going to go right in. I also think the spinning pads help to disperse the liquid well. I like the fact that the battery life has an indicator. You do need to be quite robust in the way you guide the mop around, otherwise it would just spin mindlessly. You get use to the sensation very quickly. It’s bulky to move from room to room when it’s not switched on. It doesn’t feel heavy when you’re operating, but as I say, you do need to guide it robustly! I’d say it’s expensive for what it is. On the other hand it’s durable and a British brand and I hope it will have longevity compared to other similar devices. All in all I’m very happy with it!

It is good, but it is expensive
First of all, my review is based solely on using this product on polished, off white, porcelain tiles. I am a bit of a self proclaimed perfectionist when it comes to my tiled floor. When I clean it, I want it perfect and streak free. Can this product do this? Yes, but it will take a bit of effort and finding the right formula for you, which I’ll go into. I used to use a karcher wet and dry floor mop, I don’t recall the model, but the one with twin rollers that look a bit like paint rollers. It used to take me 20 mins to do all my floors with the karcher, however they would need another 10 mins drying time on average. The problem with the karcher was that performance deteriorated with age, and I don’t just refer to the rollers which can obviously be washed or replaced. The vacuum seals and squeegees all started to deteriorate as well, meaning I was getting some horrendous greasy looking film like finishes sitting on the surface after cleaning, hence into the market for a new floor cleaning tool. So, as a time comparison from the karcher at 20 mins clean time, the aircraft takes about 30 - 40 mins, and I’ll explain why. None of this is set in stone and just what I found works for me as my kind of formula, so may be different for others. So first thing is that I would consider if one battery is enough for you? It might be better to order the model with 2 batteries up front, as aircraft didn’t seem to have any for sale and I found myself scouring eBay and found one for about £32 incl postage. I found the batteries to last about 30. - 32 mins of run time and nobody wants to run out of power before finishing their floors. I have about 30 - 35 sqm to cover and need 2 batteries. So what’s this formula? I am talking about what pads you will use, what cleaning fluid, how much cleaning fluid etc. I found that if I took any of the pads and sprayed a cleaning solution (ready mixed surface cleaner from a bottle) then they would all remove any tea spills etc and buff up to a nice shine. So that works for maintenance, but I didn’t find it worked quite so well if I filled the onboard tank with water and a concentrated disinfectant. And go for the full floor. It was leaving smears, and even although I hadn’t used a lot, I found I had to drop it down to a bit under the 5ml recommended amount, as the tank holds 300ml. I ended up with about 3ml solution, but it will depending on the brand and how concentrated I suppose, so a bit of trial and error. So when trying to do my whole floor, I found that using only 1 pad type is not an option (with the amount of space I need to clean). You just end up with streaks, even when it dries. I bought the model with the 3 different pads, white scrubbing ones I think they were, blue ones and white and pink polishing / buffing. I found it best to do a fairly large section, maybe 6 - 8 sqm with the scrubbing white pads, with a squirt of cleaning fluid mix from the tank about every sqm. This left the tiles quite damp, but with a good even film like coverage, and not pools of water (like if you don’t have enough cleaning fluid the water just sits on the surface). Then, as much of a faff as it is, I’d replace the pads with the buffing / polishing pads and go over that area until it is dry and buffed to a shine. Then move to a new area and repeat until finished. If you have a smaller area, then you wouldn’t need to break it into smaller areas. The reason I did that, was to prevent the area drying and being too streaky and too much to buff out. That might not happen, so whatever works for you. That brings me to some of the niggles and things you just need to accept. Starting with the niggles, placing / replacing the pads. This can be tricky to get the pad aligned with the mop heads. I tried lying them on the floor and applying the mop down on to them, this was rarely successful, especially when the pads are all slightly different diameters. The most effective way I found is to lift the mop, hold upright and change the pads whilst holding. This may end in you occasionally banging the ceiling with the handle (I am 6’4”), or spilling cleaning fluid down you as the locking mechanism that hold the mop head horizontally gives way and the head flops towards the floor direction and leaks fluid, despite having the bung firmly in place. So this I do find to be a bit of a faff, and you might not get them perfectly aligned and have to redo, as if the pads are not spinning fairly evenly, you will just be fighting against an imbalanced mop and I assume it would not be best for the mop either. Speaking of the locking mechanism, what I am referring to is when you move the handle into the upright position, it locks in place. This doesn’t always feel natural and sometimes it feels like it is going to break. I found that if you place your foot towards the front of the unit lightly when on the floor (just beyond the power switch), just to hold it down, then apply a slight lifting movement to the handle then it will click into the locking upright position a bit easier, without the fear of breaking it. The led light on the front of the unit is not powerful enough to be of any use, but you have no facility to turn it off, so it just contributes to the battery consumption without much benefit. Lastly, what you just need to accept is that you will need to vacuum not just before you use this, but afterwards as well, as this will pull dirt and fluff etc out of nooks and crannies that your hoover wouldn’t not reach. Obviously this doesn’t vacuum and will leave the newly found dirt on your newly polished floor. One unexpected benefit is that this will keep your skirting boards / kitchen kickboards looking clean around the edges. I have attached some pictures to show the streak free shine you can achieve. Like I said at the start, this review is based only on my experience with polished porcelain tiles, which are typically very difficult to get gleaming. Would I recommend this? Yes I would. It does take a bit more effort than some other solutions out there, but will it give you a consistent and perfect finish if you put the work in, absolutely. I paid about £168 I think it was at Black Friday. I can’t help but feel that for what you get as a product, that still feels a bit expensive, but when you compare it with the finish you can achieve and other solutions and their prices, then it feels a bit more justified to spend this amount of money and it’s not just sum of all the parts you are paying for, but what all of the parts can achieve.

Takes all the hard work out of cleaning the floors
Love it. We have LVT fitted in the kitchen and the scouring pads are great for the high volume walkway areas. We also use it for our hall and bathroom tiled floors Best of all it’s great for our solid wood floor. We use a bees wax polish and this makes polishing so easy

Excellent machine.
The PowerGlide supersedes all the floor cleaners that I have used. It really does clean and polish. I have used it on stone kitchen tiles, polished bathroom tiles and on my wooden floors all to an extremely satisfactory finish with no hard work involved. The machine almost does the work itself by gliding along the floor. You only have to direct it occasionally. I am 78yrs and I find it extremely easy to operate. The machine arrived within the estimated time. I highly recommend this product.

It’s a godsend
I’ve had the Aircraft Powerglide for a little while now and it is truly a treasure for me. There are many people who can relate to the debilitating effects of arthritis, not being able to exert real pressure to wash kitchen, bathroom or hallway floors being one of them. This machine truly is lightweight. Relatively easy to manoeuvre and I feel satisfied with the way it cleans my floors. It only uses a small amount of water and cleaning liquid so the floors dry very quickly. It is true that the rotating discs cannot clean right into corners but that is very trivial matter, I cannot think of any way around that, but it really doesn’t bother me at all. I am one who would appreciate a slightly more abrasive scrubbing pad but, almost inevitably, someone would complain that something had been damaged by such a pad. Expensive? My first reaction was Yes but on reflection maybe not, this provides me with a satisfactory solution to a problem that had been bothering me for quite some time. In my book it is worth the cost and is a nice little machine. I have not been disappointed with it.

Love this mob!
I have 3 dogs and just put down a brand new light grey wooden floor. Even tho cleaning with a manual mob several times a day to remove muddy paws, after some month in my lovely grey floor turned into a slight beige brown laminate. I was looking for alternatives that didnt involve me scrubbing the floor manually on all fours once a week. I found this product to be heaven send. After a few times of going over my floor with this electric mob my beige floor turned into its original lovely grey tone. And the best thing I can now with minimal effort maintain the tidiness of my floor. I even enjoy cleaning the floor now! It takes minimum effort to move the mob as it does all the hard scrubbing work. The battery life could be longer, yet it is sufficient for me and my 1 bedroom apartment. Love that the pads are reusable, simply pop them in the washing machine and they come out nearly dry ready for action. I first had my doubts due to the prize if it was worth to get an electric one, but if you have pets or kids and a light colored floor, you should consider it, highly recommend :)

Bangs violently and buttons usually don't work
One of the reasons I chose this cleaner was because it claims to clean all the way to the edge of the floor - which it can - but whenever it got close to anything on its left or right side it started banging violently against it. I was worried it was going to dent or chip door frames, skirting boards etc, so I started deliberately keeping it a few inches away from anything to its left or right, which meant the floor wasn't getting cleaned all the way to the edge after all. Most of the time when I pressed either of the two buttons on the handle, nothing happened (the handle is a remote control for the main unit). I always had to press multiple times before anything happened. I tried putting in fresh batteries but it made no difference. The rubber cap over the water tank wasn't waterproof, so either I had to change the pads without turning the unit upside down, or I had to turn it upside down over the bath, or I had to remove the handle to turn it upside down over the sink. It did an ok job of cleaning the centres my floors, but no better than a cheap spray mop. It also took longer because of the faulty buttons and was more stressful because I felt I couldn't let it get close to walls or furniture. I returned it.
