It comes from the clean waters off the coast of Brittany, not the murky waters in the Mediterranean. Does this salt have to be grounded?

Yes, if you want fine salt. This is coarse sea salt. I have mine in a salt mill grinder. It is very good salt, in my opinion.

How many different minerals does it have?

Celtic salt has 82 trace minerals, such as, magnesium, potassium, selenium, copper, zinc, iron, manganese, sodium, calcium, to name a few. It also has a higher trace mineral content than Himalayan salt.

How about as a tenderiser for Steak?

No, this is not a tenderizer, like Accent or such. This is a finishing salt. Best when used at the table to finish flavoring dishes.
