Works with various mediums
A great pad. I’m no professional artist but I’ve been using it for watercolour painting, coloured pencil art and graphite pencil sketches and it hasn’t let me down yet. The paper does buckle a bit when using watercolours but goes back into shape mostly when dry (my smaller pieces always end up a wee bit curved if they’ve been excessively soaked). It’s not artist quality, clearly but it gives you a lot of paper to work on and if you do what I do - cut the paper up into smaller pieces - then it can really last you well.I’ve supplied a few pictures of mine as an example to how the art comes out in it even for a beginner.I’d definitely buy again but I’ve still got quite a bit left so it’ll be a wee while yet. Lol.

I'm no Artist but I believe this is really good value & quality.
My daughter wanted a go at using copic style markers. Suddenly im looking for suitible paper, I just wanted to get her some fancy felt tip pens for her art work!Following other reviews I'd agree that the weight is pretty good here and should be capable of most medias though bleed through does occur sometimes when blending so a backing shield/sheet is advisable. As for price this is very reasonable by comparison and with other products which revieve mixed reviews and contain perhaps half as many sheets.Notice unlike some other products this is proper paper, not the ever so sleightly waxed varients some people are reporting which lead to smears etc.

Nice paper
Nice paper for drawing, ink work, gouache and ‘dry’ watercolour. The paper does buckle if you use too much water with your watercolour, I prefer using gouache or ink on this paper and pencils.I like this paper the most because it’s smooth and you get 50 sheets which means you can have a jolly time and experiment with confidence !I am pleased with this paper, it doesn’t say on the cover if it’s acid free though.

Super nice paper!
Got this today and tried it. It's lovely and very cheap for 50 sheets of high quality thick paper. I've been looking for cheap alternatives for watercolour paper, and this doesn't quite hold up to that label that watercolour can be used on it as the paper buckles and warps with more than a couple layers of paint. All dry media such as graphite and coloured pencils, charcoal, pastel all work lovely though! It's got a very fine and smooth texture and it perfect for dry media and very (VERY) light washes of watercolour. It's also not as white as it seems and is an off white cream/ivory colour just for anyone who's wondering. For this reason I'm giving it 4 stars as it sort of can't really be used for watercolour but is great for non wet media!

Very smooth
Good quality, works well for a mixed media piece im doing. I've also used it for a couple of watercolour paintings with a fair amount of layers and it didnt buckle much at all! The only thing i want to point out is that the paper is extremely smooth and has almost no grain. Great if that's what you want, it's just worth knowing before buying in case that isnt what you're looking for. It is almost like hot press watercolour paper, the paint dries very fast and lifts easily. I like it a lot, I'll add pictures soon.

Ultrasmooth feel, but has tooth
I was worried about the smoothness of the paper when I first opened it, but it has tooth.I needed paper to work on for an urgent project, but my usual mixed media paper is out of stock or on back-order everywhere.Having used other Canson papers and found them good, I thought I'd try this one. It is a little lighter weight than my usual one.Because I needed it urgently, I opened it immediately to see what it was like. The feel of the paper is SO smooth - it feels like the back of a photograph - and is the same on both sides. So I needed to try it out asap so I could order something else if necessary.I put the first layer on the ground section of this illustration using inktense pencils. There is tooth! The texture under a light layer of pencil is rather like one of the smoother hot press watercolour papers.I wet the pigment, just enough to activate it and get a watercolour-type effect. After the ground area dried, I put in the first layer of the rock wall (again in inktense pencil). This is the stage of the illustration in my photograph. Hopefully you can see the texture of the paper under the layer of pencil (the rock wall, grey), and what it looks like after activation and drying (the ground area, brown).Things to note:This paper is off-white; it is definitely NOT cream, it looks white, but my white pencil shows up on it. (Canson also does a bright white version, which has a different picture on the front, in case that helps you.)Although the paper seemed to buckle when it was wet, it has dried out flat. I left it on the table. The paper still feels pretty smooth after finishing the illustration.I got two layers of pencil/wetting/drying on this with no problems. This paper is 200gsm, but each sheet feels fairly thick for this weight of paper. But it's not porous. It feels like this would go through my printer (which does a U-shaped bend in the paper feed).I have yet to test what and how much this paper will take, and will be updating my review when I have.Bottom line is that I'm glad I bought this paper. It is as good as my usual paper, although it is a lighter weight. It feels deceptively smooth.Obviously, this is all based on my first impressions. If this stops being accurate, then I will update my review.

Marvellous for most artwork.
Prismacolours, Faber Castelles, pastels, charcoal and ink pens, plus a light watercolour wash - all these mediums work very well on this paper.Best of all the paper goes through my Canon printer.I’ll not buy anything else now.
