It is beautiful and cooks awesome
This carbon steel pan is incredible. It is beautiful and cooks awesome. I have a gas range and the pan gets really really hot. This pan is the smooth finish, not shot peened. Right out of the box it is non stick. The finish is smoother than a Teflon Coated pan. It is 3mm thick which equates to approximately 11 gauge or so. Nice and thick. The color is beautiful, sort of a golden bronze. Not the same color as my other American carbon steel pan. Oh and the one piece Construstion without rivets to hold the handle on make this pan super easy to clean. The pan came pre seasoned with instructions to season it in the oven. I didn’t bother. I started using it right away. Any carbon steel pan will become seasoned through the use of the pan. Cook with it. Cook bacon and it will become seasoned. I cooked onions in butter. They were delicious. And guess what? None stuck at all. None...period. The overall finish of this pan is exceptional. As soon as I can afford one, I’ll buy the wok next.I chose this pan over some more expensive hand made brands. Those made in Seattle or North Carolina. I’m glad I did.The one piece handle on this pan has a crease down the middle which does aid in picking it up. It won’t rotate in your hand. And as I mentioned the pan is easier to clean without rivets.Oh and I’d like to add... I read some of the one star reviews for this pan. Mine sits level right out of the box. One person complained of a warped pan. Also, someone else mentioned this pan might not be for the beginner chef. They might be right. Actually ANY carbon steel or cast iron pan would probably not be best for someone just learning to cook. I’ve cooked for years and years. I’ve had cast iron, coated cast iron, carbon steel and Teflon pans. If I were just learning how to cook. I’d get the simplest Teflon coated pan I could find and concentrate on the recipe and not have to worry about the pan’s seasoning or taking car of the pan after I’ve cooked. The nature of this pan and any cast or carbon steel pan does require more work to keep the pan nice. However, This is a 5 star pan all the way. I’m very glad I bought it.

It’s maybe better than advertised!
I did all kinds of reading reviews and research that I could. It is expensive, but with all of the positives it is maybe under priced. It came pre seasoned and had directions and a link to a video on how to get it seasoned. I chose to get a $15 bottle of Grapeseed oil. I seasoned it 2 times in the oven and have done maybe 3 stove top seasonings. It works great, made fried eggs, didn’t stick at all, my wife made an egg potato sausage ham cheddar casserole, nothing sticks at all. It is a dream pan. I love it! If anyone has a bad review I believe isn’t doing something correctly. I rarely do reviews, but felt compelled on this item. I hope I help other people make a good decision for themselves.

SEASON IT RIGHT and you will be in heaven!
The media could not be loaded. The absolute best pan I've ever owned or cooked with. I am currently in the market to purchase replacements for all of my older Teflon coated pans and wanted to go big or go home. This pan is amazing. I've been using my cast iron for some time now, so I know how to properly season and this was much easier in my opinion (perhaps due to weight and ease of moving in and out of the oven). Once seasoned the hefty price tag definitely matched the performance and asthetics. So far I've made eggs, burgers and steaks on it. I used avocado oil (my go to for all my pans requiring seasoning) and the results were off the charts. Once cleaned from factory, I applied oil and placed it in the oven for about an hour face down. I then placed it on the power boil burner and put a little oil, wiped it down, then back in the oven for two more seasonings, then back on the burner for one last season.I clean the pan with salt usually but if needed you can use salt and a stiff (non metal) brush to scrub. Salt usually does the trick but when I made burgers I did get a little bit of fat that stick on the pan so I used the salt, my brush and a little elbow grease to clean it off.The pics and my video say it all! Do not hesitate. If you can work an oven and stove top you can season a pan. If your food is sticking, I'm sorry but you're just doing it wrong. Takes little to no effort at all, just a little time and patience. As far as price goes, buy once, cry once. I imagine this pan being passed down to my kids.

Good but could be better
Is very sturdy and I love the finish, but is not flat on the bottom which creates a hot spot in the middle, I would give it a 5 star if it was flat.

Outstanding product
This skillet beats expectations!!! A simple joy to cook with. The preseason application works perfectly, it’s like having a non stick iron skillet. Highly recommended
