Fan dies
I have 5 (yes 5) Foxsur chargers. 3 of the older 8 amp type and 2 of this newer 12A type. They're excellent except for one problem: the fans they use are terrible quality and the bearings start squealing and then fail. All 3 of the 8 amp chargers failed in around the first 10-40hrs of use. I had hoped they'd fixed this for the newer type, but one of the 12A's I have has a failing fan too. Fortunately if you can solder, then replacing the fan with a 50x50x10mm DC12V Dual Ball Bearing Fan (with much needed higher airflow) from your favorite auction site will only cost you around $3.50 and some basic soldering skills. Btw, the difference between the 8A and 12A model is just a software update. The hardware is the exact same and the board markings indicate it's actually rated for up to 15A (but derating is good for lifespan). They do seem to have adjusted the desulfation setting between the two models and the 12A desulfation mode generates much less heat in the battery and does seem to work well, but you need to keep it running for multiple days. e.g. 7 days to really get a big difference. This 12A model times out after 24hrs runtime whether it's finished or not, so you'll have disconnect and reconnect daily to keep it going. The other difference is this 12A model supports LiFePO4 batteries. Foxsur needs to source more reliable cooling fans since it can't run with a broken fan and most buyers won't have the skills required to replace it when (not if) it breaks. If they could just fix that, it would be an excellent buy.

Works really well. Small but powerful.

Not as powerful as advertised.
The unit struggles to start my 6.0LS gas. I can’t believe how long it says charged just not as powerful as advertised.
