An Excellent set of Canasta Cards.
Canasta is a wonderful game that is the contrast between skill and luck.My local University of the 3rd Age started a Canasta Group and required three new sets of Canasta cards.I chose the more expensive set only to be informed that I could only order one per household.Why I have simply no idea.So I selected this set which is about one pound cheaper.I have looked at the Bicycle brand sets as their cards are superior in handling, play and flow but at £35 plus are three times as expensive as this set.The big question are they any good?These cards are made in Austria by the Piatnik brand.The cards are plastic coated which personally I do not like the 'air cushioned' finish ones that say Bee, Bicycle and other American brands product are better.Two packs are far easier to shuffle than these that tend to slide and stick in use.BUT the clubs original sets are the Piatnik brands and they have to be said have stood the test of time and lasted many years.This brand has al the card values wriiten on the cards themselves which makes counting up the scores at the end easier not to mention easier for novice players to learn more easily.The sets come with a useful set of rules and some scoresheets.So you have the trade-off of three sets being cheaper than the one from Bicycle.So the final judgement is that this is a perfectly serviceable pack of Canasta cards.So recommended.

A great game, for the next generation - hopefully!
Excellent quality cards and prompt delivery. It's years since we have played this wonderful game for families so we're working through the accompanying Rule book, and hoping it comes back to us for the next generation.
