Great way to get started in the sport
I picked this set up so that I could play with some friends that were also just getting into disc golf. As someone that has a ton of hobbies/activities, I wasn't sure that this was going to be a sport/hobby that 'stuck' at the outset, so having a single-purchase option at a reasonable price with a decent selection of discs to get me started was nice, especially from a recognized name in the industry. The five-piece set arrived in a nice compact box and I immediately took them out to play a few rounds. The distance driver is beyond my current skillset, requiring a bit more power than I can currently bring to bear effectively, but it does give me room to grow into it. In the interim, the Escape stable driver and Maverick understable (straighter-flying) driver have been champs, giving me options to cover distance (even if it's not as much as I'd like) accurately. The Truth midrange is phenomenal for those long approaches when you don't necessarily want to try a putter and I'm pretty sure I'm never going to replace the Judge putter, unless it's with another one.The plastic is a bit soft and does get beat up a bit when you clip trees or end up skidding across asphalt, but they still throw true. Additionally, that soft plastic has great grip and releases cleanly if you're doing your part. While you don't get a choice as to what colors you get, all of mine were in nice high-visibility tie-dyed style patterns and I quite like the way they look.If you're curious about disc golf, this is a great way to get a good selection of discs to get you started from one of the bigger names in the game. If I were to lose more than one of the discs from this set, I'd happily just buy another of these sets to replace them.

My favorite starter set
I bought the Innova 5 disc starter set and this Dynamic Disc 5 disc starter set. This was my favorite by far. The feel of The Judge putter is wonderful. Great grip, really easy to throw. I spent about 10 minutes playing catch with a buddy to get use to the feel of it and that's really helped me to understand how to throw this disc. The Truth is so good that I bought 2 more just so I can practice with multiples of the same disc. A beginner could really play an entire course with just these 2 discs. There have been some complaints that these disc aren't for beginners. That a starter set shouldn't included a speed 9 and speed 12 drivers because beginners can't throw those properly. That's true, but with this value for money why not include more advanced discs? And to be truthful, the turn rating on all of these disc is so small that they're all pretty stable and straight flyers. There's nothing wrong with having them in your bag. Certainly, they give you good feedback when practicing because if your speed 5 disc and speed 9 disc are going the same distance then it's a very good indicator that you're throwing nose up. Without these faster discs to compare to you may not notice that.I've become a big Dynamic Disc fan through this starter set. As I improve I'd like to pick up some more understable discs. But to start out with, this is an amazing selection of beginner friendly discs.

Not durable, but a great set for beginners.
Great starter discs. However, after playing one round, the discs took quite a beating. The plastic is quite soft, but they throw really well. As an amateur disc golfer, I think these are worth purchasing to get you going in the right direction!

Nice set, but not exactly for beginners
Unless you know you want to start with a heavier set, consider finding a lighter weight set in the 140g-160g range. Most beginners will be better served by a lighter weight set until they learn to throw. That was (is) certainly true for me.Excited to get started in disc golf, this 170g-ish set is the first set I purchased based on what I had read so far (and the value). After further reading, I also bought a lighter weight three-disc set from Latitude 64, and I'm glad I did. After a couple of months I'm barely starting to throw this heavier set reliably, yet I've bought more discs in the 150g-165g range to round out my "throwable" set. For now I'm doing best in that 150g-165g range, and the heavier fairway and distance drivers from this set are not yet in my bag. They say once you learn to throw the lighter discs, you will naturally move up to heavier discs. Also, as a beginner you'll want to stick with the putter and midrange, and perhaps a fairway driver, so this five disc set is a little more advanced and may prove frustrating. The faster drivers are not effective until you learn the throwing techniques. I am barely able to effectively throw the distance driver in this heavier set, but I do pretty well with the lighter fairway driver in the lighter weight Latitude 64 set. That said, these discs are great once you have gained the experience to throw them. The Judge putter (mine is 173g) has already become my go-to disc inside the circle. The Maverick was the disc used off the tee for my first birdie...in very windy conditions...and is earning it's place in my bag.The Prime (DX) plastic is the least durable plastic used in the sport, but it is common in starter sets (and desired for putters due to grippy-not-slick feel). They will get dinged up when you hit trees (you will hit trees...sorry trees!). I've already started replacing discs in my lighter Latitude 64 set with the more durable Classic and Champion/Lucid plastics. As for the colors, they do vary as indicated. I ended up with several pink disks. Pink is not my favorite color, but I'll take a visible pink disk over green or black any day. I typically buy yellow now. It's uncanny how effectively discs can hide in even moderate brush or in the dimming evening light. Until I can throw with reliable accuracy I'll pick colors I can find!Enjoy the game...it's a lot of fun.

Great set
As a beginner, this is a great set! The only thing that would have been nice is if they included a small manual for the discs to understand their uses... But, they seem really good! Our family has already played, and we loved it!

Great Beginners Set
I'm a beginner and these discs are very forgiving.I prefer a mid-range to putt with, but the Driver and Mid Range discs I'm very comfortable with.

The discs were a birthday present to my son. He has just taken up frisbe golf. He just loves the sport.

robust set for beginners or to give your existing bag more choice
Solid discs that fly quite nicely. The Escape driver is a little fast for beginners, may fade more than expected if you're throwing it gently, the Truth midrange and Judge putter are very solid and easy to work with. The finish on them is smooth and easy to grip, there is enough flexibility to make them comfortable.

Awesome Starter Set
Look: 10/10Feel: 10/10Longevity: TBDFunction: 10/10This a great set of starter discs. The discs themselves are high quality and offer lots of variation across the group. My only complaint would be that it would be great for the company to include some basic info about the discs as it is a beginner set. I.e each disc has 4 different ratings on it and it would be awesome for a small piece of paper to explain what these ratings mean. This is not a huge negative of course as one can easily google this as well.

Happy and fun!
No complaints. Just fyi, if you’re a beginner frisbee golfer, these are perfect. Varying speeds in these putters, but works fine for myself and kids (4 children all under age of 14).
