Dangerous moulded mains plug on the charger. Battery good.
This was very nearly a five star review. But the charger has a moulded plug that has no provision for a fuse. The Chinese don't seem to understand that we are plugging this into a 32 amp supply. Yes the charger probably has an internal protection but if the flex gets damaged it could be a spectacular failure. So if you want to use as is I suggest you use an extension lead or double adaptor with an appropriate fuse. The battery on the other hand does appear to be fine. Voltage out of the box was the expected nominal 48 volts and when charged was 54 volts as you would expect for fully charged. And 24 hours later still had a full charge so it's not discharging itself. This one behaves slightly differently to the original battery that came with the bike. The original you just plugged in and it would charge. With this one you need to turn the key switch to the on position or it will not charge. So it's basically good came well packaged and arrived earlier than expected. It's just a shame that we still accept the abused ce mark as a sign of the quality instead of bringing back a true British standard where these things are inspected on arrival into the UK.

Poor cells.
I purchased two batteries one charges correctly to 54.6 volts. The second battery only reaches 51.4 volts indicating dead cells and both charging connectors are bad fits. I have switched charges etc. Defo bad cells, so reduced range!
