Highly recommended - excellent Defender Lock.Very sturdy - very easy to install - everything you need in the box - quick delivery*only downside, no mention anywhere what size drill is needed for the fixing bolts until you read the instruction inside the box ... Size 13 for the bolt hole in the ground.If you're shopping around for the best product for your money as I did - don't be fooled by the cheaper ones ... they don't tend to come with the fixing bolts, but they can be bought separately - this came as the whole package and definitely worth the money.Very easy install - 3 x holes in the base plate for 2 x bolts giving the best option for your garage floor - ours had a slight incline/water barrier which didn't have any impact on fixing.Great deterrent for any/all burglers :)

Bought this to replace current which had some design flaws.I am amazed by the quality for the price.Shackle that comes with it could be better.If measured properly and butted up right against the door it fits very snug.Ground plate is very stiff and rigid.Would be good if bolts came with security ball bearings.

I employed a professional handyman to install this and watched him do it. He had an SDS drill which he used meticulously, producing vertical holes as much as is possible. When installed, the expanding bolt heads were up one side and down on the other by only 1mm in the sunken holes in the plate , this was sufficient to stop it locking. Once the bolts are expanded they won;t come out. The expanding bolts were also exactly the same size as the only nearest drill size bit available, so there was little room for expansion. Perhaps it installs better in softer new concrete. I don't know how others achieved it with now mention of issues.

There have been a few garage and shed break-ins in our rural community so I wanted something simple and effective to fit to my garage door. I had looked at many other devices,, but most would require extensive cutting and fitting to the door itself.This is easy to fit - 2 drilled 16 mm holes and the job is done.Note: Some people have complained about the lock getting rusty. Like anything metal left out in the rain a squirt of WD40 oil solves the problem.
