Altura Tortec Unisex Rack

Great rack for the price.

A strong and stylish lightweight rack. It was fairly easy to fit although on my road back I had to add P-clips as there were no fixing points at the front on the seatstays.

This is a decent, light rack that will suit most bikes, however there are a couple of downsides. The first was the vent holes on the inside of the tube (a by product of manufacturing) had sharp burrs and I skinned my finger on one. Had to file them down. The next issue is the stays are far to short for a ladies 700c bike, the rack would be at a terrible angle if you tried to use them. I instead manufactured some new stays from 8mm aluminium round bar. The originals are 7.8mm so you will need to file out the clamp brackets on the rack a wee bit. With these modifications it makes a good light weight rack that seems decently strong. Fits standard panniers fine. Plenty of room to fit mud guards on 700x42c wheels.

It is possible to use it with a Boardman MX comp, but it had to be tweaked a little and the seat stays were too short so had to be straightened out, it appears to be intended for rim brake frames that have a taller seat tube and a top tube that is horizontal or as near as. It would of been simple to install if I had the right frame type and as for VFM well I got it from the Amazon warehouse at a discount.

Very good, lightweight and strong rear pannier rack. Unfortunately, I never received my order from the Altura (Amazon) store, so had to order it again elsewhere.

I found this rack easy to fit and it is very sturdy. I fitted it in around 20 minutes with the very easy to follow instructions.

Fairly straightforward assembly, but your bike, and any mounting points it may have, can make fitting a bit fiddly. Sturdy yet unobtrusive once fitted.

too tall, no adjustment available needed to file a flat in the legs at the fastening point where it grades from round to flat so that it could tilt forward closer to the seat stays, it fouled on my drop outs..looks good and its light, sold it to another non tecky cyclist.

Buon prodotto, costruito bene, purtroppo l'ho dovuto restituire perché non ho potuto montarlo sulla mia bici, occhio alle misure!

porte bagage design très épuré; il est super léger un peu haut perché sur un vélo en 700 mais il se fait vite oublier facile à monter

Più ingombrante di quanto pensassi, e comunque non installabile su bici con freni a disco.

Pas encore testé dans la durée, ni avec de lourdes charges, mais il a l'avantage d'être très léger. La pose est un chouilla plus compliquée que les btwin, mais ca reste très accessible. Bref pour le moment, je suis satisfait.
