I remember these when I was a kid, they are great I f you need to heat a small bathroom but don't want the hassle of wiring a heater from scratch, with this its as simple as replacing a light fitting.The quality control guys must have been asleep when mine went passed because two out of the three arms that hold the heating element and reflector to the main body of the unit were not attached, however everything else was fine so decided to reattach them using self tapping screws rather than send it back.Once fitted the unit works very well with a four position pull switch, off, light on, heater on and both light and heater on.The element takes a few minutes to fully heat up but provides more than enough heat for a small bathroom. the light itself is a ES type, some people seem to have problems finding this type but I have had no problems and have found them in all the major supermarkets and DIY stores.Overall I am very happy with this bathroom light/heater, the only reason I gave it three stars is due solely to the poor quality control.

Works as expected, the order of operations would be better as light then light and heat then heat only followed by off but that is a minor point. What was very annoying is the description says "connects to existing wiring". This is untrue as normal light switches have only a switched live wire on a single pole switch. The instructions in the Box say this MUST be fitted with a double poll switch. This involves a change of switch and ensuring there is both supply and load wires for live and neutral. Not too much of a problem if the property is wired in twin and earth but a real pain if the wiring is in conduit. If one took the description at face value and connected to a standard existing lighting circuit the installation would not comply with current U.K regulations.

The heater does the job is says on the tin, however, it is so confusing with turning off. 1 pull= light only on, 2 pulls= just heater on, 3 pulls= both on, 4 pulls = both off. So when someone turns the light on (1 pull) does what they need to do then pulls the cord for light off, the light does go off but then the HEATER COMES ON and this isn't evident for several minutes until it turns red and heats up. By this time the person has left the bathroom and the heater remains on until the next person uses the bathroom. There is NO indicator light just in very small letters right at the source of the light, which is impossible to see when the light is off. It could be potentially VERY DANGEROUS if left on and unattended all day. I'm annoyed that i have bought this and paid for and electrician to install.

Very useful when very cold in the 'smallest room' I don't have the heater on when showering for safety purposes and also find it better to turn off light when heater is on. I heat the room, turn off heater then put on light if needed otherwise the bulb is affected by the heat from the radiant tube.

This product met my requirements completely and I have given it only 4 stars because my ceiling is so high the heat is not that strong over my shower mat. The switch is much more firm than the previous fitting I had and it appears more durable. The light fitting works well.

It gives the impression at first of being a little flimsy and perhaps sharp at the edges, but once fitted on the ceiling it has worked as promised, although the pull string can be a little confusing in its operation to begin with.

Great idea, makes a big difference to the comfort of the bathroom. Ideal if not much space available. This is the second one I've bought as the heat unit on the first stopped working after a couple of years. Hope this one lasts longer, but liked it enough to try again.

It is as described. Straightforward to fit and use. It does lack an indicator light to show when the heater element is on, which the instruction booklet says it has, but the glow from the element itself is sufficient.
