Tefal FV2661 Ultraglide Anti-Scale Steam Iron, 2400 Watt, Purple/White

I bought this iron to replace one from another manufacturer which was originally considerably more expensive than the Tefal. What a good choice I made! This iron is lightweight and has a powerful enough steam function to cope with my favourite denim skirt, pillow cases, duvet covers, twill cotton shirts etc. It doesn’t seem to matter if things have been over dried - it copes easily. Cooler settings do a great job on silk shirts. Tried hard to find a niggle that would withhold one star but failed!! Great piece of equipment - highly recommend.

Great iron, lots of steam and not too heavy. Easy to descale.

It works very well. It just steams the water away very quickly. I nice plate on the bottom and not at all heavy.

Gave it to my daughter and 3 teenagers after I had struggled with a family load of ironing with a totally useless iron, I was with them for the entire lockdown period. This iron makes everything easy - excellent.

Bought this to replace Tefal iron that now just gets warm. Picked the nearest model to the original. After about 15 years the original has hardly and wear to the soleplate surface, never had any scale problems (despite being in a very hard water area), the cord shows no signs of wear.Didn't hesitate to look for another Tefal.

Sadly 18 months on this iron is leaking like a sieve and I will have to replace it, very disappointed. Tefal irons used to be good quality and lasted a reasonable amount of time . Will not buy Tefal again.

I usually use a steam generator iron. The steam from this doesn't compare to them, but is better the most of the other standard irons I have used.I like how fast it is to heat up, its ready, from cold, in under a minute.The safety comes on faster then I am use to, but because of how fast the heat up is this isn't a problem.What I don't like thou is where the water spray button is located. Its too close to wear you hold the iron, and I keep accidentally hitting or catching the button. This means dribbles of water or spraying water where I don't want it.I also don't think much of the calcium cleaning. It is easy to remove the de-cal bit, but ive not had much from it, and the iron has still spat out scale on my clothes. It just doesn't do the job.
