Mag-Float Floating Magnetic Algae Cleaner for Glass Aquarium Long

First of all many thanks to Jasperparot further below for the warning about the strength of this magnet.I wasn't entirely sure how to use it and at first I made the mistake of slamming them both together on either sides of the glass! I guess I didn't realise the force of the magnet and would warn others to 'slide' them together as the magent is very strong.It's a fabulous product and removes any unsightly algae with little effort at all. Be warned though that the magnet is quite powerful and I can't help but still be a little nervous when using it.Highly recommend but watch out for your fingers too!

Having tried out several magnetic cleaners over the years & generally been disappointed, I am delighted to say this one is excellent. It manages for scape off even tough algae with just a few passes yet is relatively easy to move with just some judder. It doesn't seem to clog & being floating is a bonus.It measures approx 9½cm long, 3½cm wide & 2½cm high on the outside with the inside part being a similar size. Being boring grey plastic on the outside (white on the inside) it does stand out but on my 1m tank it doesn't look too large. Apart from changing to a more pleasant colour the only improvement I would suggest is adding some sort of finger grip.The only thing I am waiting to find out is how long it lasts. If the cleaner lives up to the quality provided so far there won't be issues with cracking plastic & rusting metal like some! It could be near perfection!

The magnetic strenth of this product is what sets it apart from others. Just be very wary of getting your fingers trapped between the two sides if you're taking it out of the tank to clean, had a close call! Easily cleans the inside of the glass and can actually be stored attached to the tank. Another thing to watch out for is when cleaning too close to the bottom of the tank that you don't get gravel trapped between the inside cleaner and the glass, as it will scratch the glass due to the strength of the magnet. If this happens though, you hear it pretty quickly and can just pull the magnet towards you which disengages it and allows it to float to the top of the tank (this also drops any gravel to the bottom of the tank again.Great product though!

Very good but does slip lose, my glass is 10mm and its just a little to much but does Work well if I'm careful and don't move to fast.

It may be a little sad writing a glowing review of a fish tank cleaner but, after years of getting my hands wet every few weeks and living with algae smeared glass in between cleaning, I now have no excuse to keep the glass crystal clear. The product works exactly as described. The magnet is very strong and can hold the connection between the two pieces even around the curves of our new panoramic tank. The magnet cleaner also gives me a good reason to inspect the fish every day given that they live in the hallway and could easily be ignored. I have only had it for a few weeks so maybe there are hidden issues that I have yet to discover but, as of right now, this is a 5 star product.

Good points: Keep your hands dry Does remove algae It floats if you let goBad points It's ugly as sin if you leave it in the tank Algae grows on it You have to really scrub at the algae which stirs up your water and your substrate It doesn't clean curved glass When you clean near the substrate it can pick pieces up and scratch your tank

This is a very strong and very effective magnet. If your aquarium has a lot of algae on the glass, it takes a little more effort to get it off. The results are leaving aquarium crystal clear. I can actually enjoy my fish again now! I highly recommend. Best of luck.

Wow... Pretty much sums up this product. I have a 60 ltr tank about 5mm thick glass walls. Plauged with Algae problems, having to keep lights on for long periods with guppie fry.. Usually i have to do a full tank clean stressing fish by moving between tanks and ruining the tank eco system. No more with this little bit of magic. Its safe to say I am gobsmacked with thr results after one use. Highly recommend it. 10 minutes and 2 tank walls clear of thick algae. Glad I waited for the product to be delivered rather than upset eco system again after 1 month. Ran magnet over walls a few times then a 50% water change to mop up any bits, and there wasnt many as i expected algae seemed to vapourise in water. Must buy for anyone with algae problems.
