Superior Pump 92551 1/2 HP Stainless Steel / Cast Iron Pedestal Sump Pump

Great pump,fit and finish high quality,easy and simple set up, operation is so quiet I thought it may defective and not working until the water in the sump disappeared quickly best value for the price.

A benefit of a pedestal pump is the large range of water level adjustment for when the pump turns on. My sump pit drains naturally through pipes running underground and has worked fine for years, but I was worried what would happen if the natural drainage couldn't keep up with heavy storms. With this pump I could set it so it only turns on if the water gets above those drain lines, something not possible with a submersible version. It works very quickly and quietly in testing and provides good backup flood protection. I recommend the stainless and cast iron version for the weight to keep it firmly planted in the sump pit.

We ordered 1/2hp, but received 1/3hp. We returned, reordered and received 1/2hp sold and shipped by Amazon for a few dollars less. Same product by Superior. Works great, runs quietly! Overall, a quality product.

No complaints with this pump after a year of use. i live in a 155 year old Ohio farmhouse in a wet area, and with a rubblestone foundation water is going to come in at times, just have to pump it back out. Been here 34 years and have gone thru a number of pumps. My sump is small and somewhat shallow and submersibles cycle too much and I keep replacing switches, so I went back to a pedestal style which allows a wider range of control. The fact this pump is almost all stainless or cast iron signals that it should last beyond the 5 yr warranty which I also like. This pump is heavy also, which means it stands on its own and is very stable. I have no problem recommending this item.

This 1/2hp pump is amazingly quiet, powerful (1.5" discharge), and more robust compared to 1/3hp pumps out there. I was pleasantly surprised by it's performance (especially the quietness). It's worth every penny! The pump is pretty heavy, but once installed that's not an issue.

Didn't notice till I was having it put in. It stands a bit taller than my old one. Over all it does the job. Water rises. trips the switch. pumps out. not much to it. Only reason 4 star on install was I had to call a guy in due to going threw a wall for the water to exit. Not a simple thing unless you have the tools. 24 Aug: Still going strong. I maxed out the height for the water so it kicks on less. Pumps out pretty quick still.

Bought this to replace an existing 'green' sump that used a float switch that would rust and fail too often. The Superior pump is an upgrade. It is really well put together & solid. I originally like having the entire pump below ground, but the reliability isn't there. This is a much smarter design and will be much easier to maintain. The only concern is that I notice the base started to rust in just a few weeks. It may not be an issue, but I plan to keep an eye on it. There may need to be a Rust-Oleum maintenance plan for longer term use.

Excellent and a well built pump. Quiet and pumps a lot of water . Have 2 of these pumps installed in my basement, does a great job in keeping the water under control. Will be ordering a third one to have as a spare……

Well built easy to install and very quiet running pump

It looks like a well made pump,l only gave a four Star because I just installed it and not sure how long it will last. Hopefully it will last longer than my last one which was a different manufature which only lasted a few months. Time will tell,the good news is this pump comes highly recommended and has a five year warranty.
