Q: Can i run this card in sli? if so how many can i run in sli?

Physically no because Nvidia took off the sli finger. Although if you really wanted to you can run sli via MDA or LDA explicit but at that point id just get a 1070

Q: installed this card with the Z170-A motherboard, it does not show up under devices? and lags terribly,any ideas?

Make sure you go to Asus or Nvidea's website to download the latest drivers. I would check with N idea first. But Asus would be my next step.

Q: How does it overclock?

Overclocks like a beast at least mine does anyway. I'm at a 2100 mhz core clock and 9000 mhz memory clock. All i've done is raise the power limit to maximum and set a custom fan profile curve using the above mentioned Asus software on the latest version.

Q: Can this card run in the extended mode? one program on one and a different program on the other. Or one spread across two monitors?

This card works in extended mode in Win7 or higher. I used it for several years on Win10 in extended mode for 3 monitors, all 1080p, with no issues at all. I was not able to put my pen display in portrait mode, though, unless it was the primary monitor. This limitation may have been due to a faulty cable or driver issues.

Flawless!

The best 1080p gaming gpu on the market. Can handle anything you throw at it in 1080p no problem (prolong the rest of your pc parts are half decent!). I have an i5 7600k with 16gb RAM and the 1060 6gb OC edition gpu and it’s flawless. Runs everything in ultra settings at well above 60fps. I mainly play R6 Siege and I’m getting over 150fos consistently. Well worth the extra few quid in comparison to the cheaper 1060’s
