A Quick Review For Those Wondering
This certainly hit the spot for me. A superb set of tracks, with some covers of milestone tracks from the era, of which mostly hit the mark. Overall a very impressive set of 2 albums on 1 CD. It is constantly on my CD player in the (old) car, as there is always something interesting to listen to, and I have yet to tire of it (will I ever?).I can't say this fits into any specific category like Jazz, Rock, Psychedelic, Pop(?) or even Folk, but has shades of each, and it doesn't really matter. It's probably more chilled or laid back music, but good music is just that, good music, regardless. An instrumental affair, other than one track (Bang Bang). The way others have been influenced by GS is also evident. Try Santana (mostly), Tom Scott for Joni Mitchell and I would say Robby Kreiger's guitar sound for the early Doors, and probably others I don't know about (yet). That doesn't really matter, what does, is that this is very excellent music, played superbly, and a delight to listen to.There may be very minor flaws, but then it's so good, I really don't mind them, and adds to the authenticity, in that they went for the moment rather than perfection, although there are many perfect moments here. I could listen to this anytime of the day or night.
