My nails are quite weak, bendy and prone to breaking at the slightest touch (tucking in a bedsheet? = disaster). This is the best nail polish I have ever used. It goes on bare nails without base coat - don’t panic - and two coats cover like a dream. Top with either their topcoat or one of your choice, and you have a finish that looks like gel. Even better, when it chips, which is much less than any other product for me, simply touch up the tips and reapply topcoat over the whole nail. Now you have invisibly extended the life of the manicure and given an extra layer of protection to said feeble nails. AND when you remove even the darkest colours, they barely stain. I initially tried using it with basecoat despite the instructions (old habits) but trust me, just go with it and put it straight on. I’m not buying anything else.

Best nail top coat and I’ve tried many over the last few years. This one looks beautiful, so shiny and glossy, and also dries super quickly and easy to apply. Looks like gel but the ease of regular nail polish. Air Dries to touch within a few mins and dries completely throughout within about an hour. Can easily say I will repurchase this as soon as it runs out

I hadn't done my nails since pre-pandemic, just couldn't be asked to get the gel kit & UV lamp out. Then I discovered this topcoat & nail polish combo and I love it. I've never been able to go more than a day or two without needing to change out my polish due to chips (unless I had a gel kit with a lamp). I purchased this top coat & paint the town red and on my first go, lasted 4 days before lightly chipping on my index fingers (admitted was using them as tools), so possibly if I'm good and careful will go longer. I've just purchased another colour. No instructions were included which was a pain, but I did a quick google search and this is what I found: 1 - Clean the nail with nail polish remover (no base coat necessary) 2 - Apply one or two coats of colour (I apply two and on my second attempt I painted the tips first then applied two coats of colour - hopefully will take longer to chip) 3 - Apply top coat I've also been told that applying topcoat every day helps with longevity, but I've not tried & I don't like the thick feeling of multiple topcoats. I've read some bad reviews, but many seem to be applying the product incorrectly or using it with different brands or other Essie polishes. I've always found that when using nail polishes, especially gel type ones it's best to follow instructions to the letter (hence lack of is a bit annoying) and use the topcoats and polish from the same 'set' for best results.

It is perfect.. color is elegant like it is feminine red but it is really dark that it is classy though. Fast dry and gel finish, no need for top coat.. the best I love about the formula is that once you take a shower all extra polish on skin goes away and the polish on the nail lasts for around two weeks easily. Perfect and worth the high price.

J’utilise ce vernis depuis des années. J’adore les vernis rouges mais quelle galère pour les appliquer en suivant l’ongle au millimètre, sans déborder sur les cuticules, sans se permettre la moindre tache sur la peau. Avec ce vernis Essie, c’est beaucoup plus facile et rapide. La teinte est parfaite, ni rosâtre ni beigeasse, elle brille intensément. Avec 2 couches, la couverture est excellente et la tenue idéale puisque vu la couleur, même si un ongle est légèrement écaillé, ça ne saute pas aux yeux. Avec un rouge, ça serait une catastrophe. Il faut reconnaître qu’il faut être minutieuse quand on l’applique afin que les couches soient uniformes, qu’il n’y ait pas la trace du pinceau ou de petites vagues. Ça concerne surtout la première couche, la seconde uniformise bien l’ensemble. Le secret : appliquer le vernis sans appuyer, tout en légèreté, avec la délicatesse d’un papillon qui se pose sur une fleur. Voilà à quoi je pense quand j’étale ce vernis sur mes ongles…
