Sol de Janeiro Rio Deo - Refillable Aluminum Free Deodorant

I’ve been buying natural deodorant from another brand for quite a while, but I could only wear it around the house because it didn’t do a lot to control sweat or odor. Well that one was out of stock. I decided to try this since I’m a fan of Sol de Janeiro products. It actually works! No aluminum and yet I’m still dry and still smell nice after six hours of housework! Will definitely continue to buy this one.

love my rio deo, I'm almost out again. The smell is that smell we all love from their bumbum cream line. I feel nice and fresh when i put it on in the morning or at night, and the smell lasts me all day. I will say, since its aluminum free i wouldn't expect it to work magic with sweat or b-o unless you've already gone through the weird changing phase you have to go through when you change from aluminum deo to a natural style one. btw-what even is that? Crazy. The fact that you can refill the container is a huge plus for me! I've done that twice now. Its also small enough to just throw into your purse for extra b-o coverage if you need it.

I have spent so much money trying to switch to aluminum-free deodorants, and none of them worked. They all left me feeling sweaty, and I hated having to constantly reapply them in the middle of the day. I was about to give up, but then my teen stumbled upon this brand and I gave it a try. This Sol de Janeiro one is the absolute only exception I've found. I never have to reapply it, it keeps me fresh all day, and it smells amazing.To be fair, it is definitely expensive for a deodorant, but for us, it’s 100% worth the price because it actually does its job. I buy it consistently for myself and my teenage daughter. My absolute favorite is their light pink one (I think it’s #68), but whenever that one is sold out, I always grab this number 62 stick as my backup. If you’ve been frustrated by other natural deodorants failing you by lunchtime, I highly recommend giving this one a shot. You can save a little bit by buying the refill cartridges instead of a new one each time.

I absolutely love the Cheirosa ’62 scent. It smells so good and makes using deodorant feel a little more luxurious. That said, I don’t find this does much to keep my underarms dry, so I wouldn’t choose it if sweat protection is your main priority.I did discover that it works really well for me on my inner thighs when running. It helps make that area more comfortable during a run, so I’ve found a second use for it that I really like.

If you like long reviews, this will be the one for you.The scent of this is amazing. I had never used or smelled any products from this brand before purchasing, and I wasn’t too sure if I’d like it. I do consider this scent to be long lasting. Currently, I’ve had it on for over 12 hours and I can still smell it. It’s not going to be strong enough to act as a perfume for the day, but it might interfere with the scent of your perfume for an hour or two after application if you have on a tank top or dress. To those who hate fragrance, this is NOT the product you’re looking for.The consistency is interesting - kind of like a thick hair pomade. I was expecting it to be slick (think Kopari, Dove Zero Aluminum or the Old Spice blue gel deodorants) due to the coconut oil. I was pleased to find it wasn’t. I was not pleased at all with coconut oil being an ingredient due to its comedogenic properties. However, I have not had any issues yet. I see a lot of people mentioning only needing to use a tiny bit. This is not the case for me. I probably use 5 light swipes of this stuff under each arm in order to get adequate protection. Keep in mind, though, that I struggle with most deodorants. If it’s usually smooth sailing for you, you could probably use less.I don’t find that this lasts all day. Sometimes it will last through a workout, and sometimes it won’t (more often not). There has never been a day I’ve worn this where I’ve truly smelled bad, though. That’s more than I can say for most aluminum-free deodorants I have tried. Overall, this is my second favorite one I’ve ever tried. In total, I believe I’ve tried around 6 aluminum free deodorants thus far.However, I won’t be repurchasing. The price for the amount of product and lacking longevity is just not reasonable - I would rather spend the money on the body spray in this scent or another one of their products. I think the price point is very high for a deodorant, and it doesn’t live up to the price point.One other thing to keep in mind - this gets on EVERYTHING. I am no stranger to stick deodorants leaving white marks - it’s what they do. I’m very careful about getting dressed/changing/when I apply the deodorant to avoid this, but it hardly helps. The white marks wash out, but it’s annoyingly more frequent than with any other deodorant I’ve worn. I also experience a lot of pilling with this deodorant, but maybe that’s just solely because I’m applying more than they recommend.

This smells amazing! Works great and doesn’t have chemicals.

Stays on for good amount of time, didn't irritate my sensitive skin , no darkness after use, and pleasant soft scent.

I bought this because I LOVE the cheirosa '62 scent that is pretty much their signature scent made popular from their Bum Bum cream. When I saw that this didn't have baking soda in it (since I'm pretty sure the skin's natural pH is acidic and that having baking soda in aluminum-free deodorant can cause skin irritation, at least for me) I wanted to try this.The good news is that the scent is the same cheirosa '62 scent and smells heavenly. I also never experienced any irritation when using this, which is a first for aluminum-free deodorant for me.Now, I understand that this is not an anti-perspirant, as it does not have the aluminum salts that are generally used to stop the sweat glands from producing sweat, so the fact that I would sweat while wearing this did not surprise or both me. What I didn't love is that my initial heavenly scent would mix with my sweat and turn into a ...not-so heavenly scent, especially when exercising.If I wasn't really active, the deodorant scent would last longer, ~6-8 hours, but would start to change into the not-so heavenly scent, especially with activity.Overall, I liked it, since I really do like the scent and I liked that it never caused me any irritation. But, given the price point and it's mediocre longevity of actually deodorizing, I don't know if I would repurchase it, maybe if it was on sale. I think I'll stick to my anti-perspirants for now.
