This is a very informative concise book. I can’t think of one thing Kelias left out. How to do some simple tests on your soil, how to improve it, how and when to fertilize and mulch, how plants benefit from the soil, what they need to thrive. It’s all here. I’m inspired to improve the soil for the plants in my yard. Highly recommended. My only complaint is that there’s not a paperback version of the book so I can gift it.

The book was was very well written and offered numerous insights into developing your own ways to deal with a variety of obstacles.I thought the author used a very easy to understand process and guide to have a successful outcome.She obviously has years of experience in this field.Thank you

As a beginning gardener I found this book very beneficial!! So much critical information in such a quick read! I highlighted so many portions of each chapter to use as a quick reference when needed!My only complaint is the outline was frustrating to follow. So many topics that are addressed were broken down and subdivided with helpful descriptions, but the titles and paragraphs ran right after each other. A simple A, 1,2,3 B 1,2,3 outline form would have made it easier to follow.Other than that, I highly recommend this book before planning your garden!!

If this book had been available years ago I think it would have prevented me from making many mistakes during my many gardening years. Gardening is so much more than just putting a seed or plant into soil and expecting great results. The author goes into the science of soil structure/nutrients and how to test and correct soil issues to ensure a more successful gardening experience. The detail helped me to better understand how it all works together and I look forward to enriching my soil for future growing successes.

Very thorough and organized. If you want better soil for planting a garden, this book is chock-full of information needed to prep and maintain a healthy soil for plants. It even has at-home tests to perform so you know what direction to go based on your own soil.

Great read for beginner gardener. The book is well written and very informative. It’s loaded with information and easy to follow.

I am an organic gardener and have been gardening for 4 years. I found the information in the book very applicable to my organic garden planning, prepping and caring for the soil. This is the second book I have read from this author and have found her books very valuable. I have learned so much from her and plan to implement her suggestions.

This book is such a great resource! All you need about soil health is here. I’m just starting out gardening so this is going to be an amazing help to get my soil where it needs to be to grow the crops we want. Thank you Jessie for taking time to pull all this together!

I really enjoyed reading this. I have learned so much about soil, soil testing and correcting my soil so I can have an abundance of veggies growing in my garden next year. I’m excited to put what I have learned into practice.
