Great unit but what's with the Euro plug and Japanese manual.
A fantastic unit. Shame it came with a two pin plug and attachment and a manual in Japanese. Looks like I'm going to have to look for a English version of the manual. Would certainly recommend the unit.

Simple Layout - Excellent Sounds For The Budget
I have to commend Zoom for making such an intuitive multi-effects for the cheaper price brackets. I picked this up from another online retailer for £109 new, and I must say its killer for the price. I have tested it with a Boss Katana 50, a Blackstar HT60 Mk2 and straight into my mixer/interface, and I can say :Pros:1 - Sounds and Effects : generally really good! I think the G3n does a lot of the higher gain stuff well, but it has surprised me with the nuances of some of its compressors and lighter overdrives. Delays and reverbs are well done, and the amp sims in general are fine for the price.2 - Layout and UI : exceptionally good! The 3 buttons with the plastic tabs at the bottom gives you full command of your signal chain while only using your feet ; this is far superior than the Boss GT1, or other offerings by Digitech (like the RP series), and I found it a breeze to edit in comparison to other units like the Line 6 HD or Helix series.3 - Looper : excellent! The sound is crisp and the control of it will save you buying loopers with additional buttons.4 - Build Quality : so far it seems robust and well made. The unit is light weight and I find it perfect for slipping into your guitar gig/bag or fitting it on your board.5 - 9V Power Supply : its included in the box! As the unit only uses 500mA, you should be able to add this to most high-end power-supplies (by T-rex, MXR or Voodoo Labs) with ease, unlike buying most Line 6 Multi-effects where they consume 1000s of mA....6 -Drum Loops : they are fine! Nothing special...Cons:1 - Sounds : some of the emulations of certain pedals/amps are mediocre when A/B'd against other units. As a lover of phaser, I absolutely detest the phaser in this unit. - but some of you may love it, so who knows!2 - Budget Amp Sims : if you think this will take on a Line 6 Helix or an Ax effects, then you will be sorely disappointed. The sounds work well enough for demo quality, but I don't feel like its got enough for pro-level. Be wary of the gain, as the amp sims tend to get brittle when the gain gets pushed on them. This can be counteracted with EQ, but I suggest you use the built-in overdrive pedals in conjunction with the amp sims to get the best results.3 - DSP : it doesn't have a lot of processing power, and you will probably be able to only use about 5 pedals/amp blocks at any one time. I have found this to be quite adequate for my uses, but some of you may want to make more complicated patches....As a guitar teacher, this does the job perfectly in conjunction my Boss Katana 50. I think if you are a beginner or someone looking to have access to a larger array of sounds, I think this is THE best multi-effects you will buy for the lower end budget of multi-effects. Everything is easy to access, and you wont suffer from endlessly tweaking 100s of parameters (like the Boss Tone Studio...) to simply dial up a good sound. Get it! :)
