eSATA Serial ATA PCI Bracket Blackplate (internal SATA Cable to external eSATA) Male to Female

I bought this to kick some life into a an old Windows XP machine - the idea was to be able to do backups quicker than using USB. I want to do full disk backups (about 80GB) and wanted to do them to an external drive as fast as possible.This bracket is fit for this task, but I got bitten by the fact that the implementation of SATA/eSATA on older PCs isn't up to much. Firstly it might be SATA I, which immediately only gives you 1.5Gb/s. Secondly, I have a 500GB drive which isn't recognised by the PC's chipset.So - for the money, very useful to have, but before you consider something wrong with it, check out the behaviour of your chipset and drives before thinking you've got a problem with this connector.

Works well and very usefull for external sata11 drives. easy too install tolk just 5mins.

Works great and its cheap. Unable to change BIOS or EFI to make it hot swapable (read in forums). Problem with macs and not this product.
