With the proper installation, this unit works like a powerhouse, the appearance is sleek and pleasing, competitively priced, the controller is at the front of the unit. It's heat transfer and capacity is super efficient and you have the option for external pump and timer control. It's simply the best.

Am now nearly a week without hot water after the unit's interior pipes froze and cracked during a recent Dallas, Tx freeze. The temps never declined below 11 degrees. According to the warranty that arrived with the unit, so long as the temps are above -4 when, Rinnai warrants the unit. Rinnai's warranty process involves quite a bit of back-and-forth before movement. The company's CSR's offer differing versions of solutions: 1.) don't call us, call your homeowner's insurance carrier; 2.) we don't warrant even at 11 degrees for interior pipe freeze breaks; 3.) one rep sent me a list of reasons why the limited warranty will not cover the unit, without first asking me what happened. What a nightmare, and a cold one to boot. Consider your alternatives.
