It’s Not 12”, and it’s Not Flat
If you need a piece of steel that’s ready to go right out of the box. I would look elsewhere. It’s far from a straight piece of steel. It’s also not 12” as advertised.Neither is a deal breaker for me, but it might be for you. Just thought I’d share.

The steel was small but good quality
Being Slightly smaller in evry demetion didn't bother me. But the coating is rediculas. Went through 2 belts getting that garbage off the steel.

Second bar was hardend....
I bought an 18" piece in May 2024. I made a Nice chopper using my small mill, grinder, and Bosch Stainless Steel carbon tip jigsaw blades. Yes, you can cut this stuff in its annealed state. Well, I ordered another billet, and it arrived last week. The first thing I noticed was that it gave my mill grief. After trying the grinder and jigsaw, I determined that this piece was much harder than my first piece. Not having a forge I tossed on my gas BBQ hit it with a Metgas torch until it glowed red. Let it cook for two hours. Shut off the gas and let it cool down overnight. Much better! But I paid good money for ANNEALED steel!
