Lightweight and sturdy.
Great little trout rod, very lightweight and compact and still sturdy enough to land the fish. Pair it with a size 500, 1000 or 2000 spinning real and you'll fish for hours without getting your arm tired.

Solid tip -- No grip on the 3m version
I ordered two of these rods, the first was delivered, i checked the top section it all looked good, a solid tip on these rods, i thought this rod would be good for Trout. I then checked carefully over the butt section and saw that it had splits in the carbon, it has been crushed. So after waiting at home for delivery i now have to waste more time waiting for the rod to be collected by a two man team with a truck. what a waste of money. I cannot bear to go through this again with the second rod, so that order was cancelled.

Nice little rod
Used a couple of times, not caught on it yet but seems a nice capable rod with a decent action

Good things come in small packages
After the tip of my MX 2 randomly snapped, Amazon refunded me and I bought the MX 1. It's quite a short rod, however it is brilliant for taking on the river, especially where surrounding foliage might otherwise interfere with casting. I've manage to land some decent trout on this rod (above 5lb) and I'm impressed with it's casting ability. Great rod for the money.

Excellent value for money.
Great little rod for the price, paired with a 1000 reel keeps it well balanced and can fish for hours without issues. Caught loads of fish, such good fun, even small ones feel like you're fighting a good sized fish. Update since review I have caught 6lb and 8lb pike with this rod, I was a bit worried but it handled both fish well.

Terrible
Turned up with the end loop bent, an inner piece of a loop missing then to top it off I pulled some fishing braid through to set it up and the end snapped off!! Definitely not the quality you would expect from Mitchell! Do not buy!!

Good. Light. Short.
Good for finesse fishing and hooking smaller fish on the canals.

Great Rod for fishing on vacation or creeks
I bought this rod because it’s short, light and it fits in my luggage. And if it gets broken I could replace it without too much financial damage.. But this tiny rod manages to amaze me with its capabilities. Since I took it with me on holiday and I don’t like telescopic rods that much I would use this Mitchell for almost everything. Attach a sinker and hook a worm or maggot? No problem. Use a float and splitshot your maggots on tiny hooks? It works great. Fish with tiny jigspinners or mepps, this rod lets you know in an instant if its spinnin or if you’re just hooking algae. Heck you can even dropshot flies or us a sbiro float with featherlight flies it will cast them out. Not to mention that amazing feeling when you have a fish on the hook. Castability is definitely acceptable, using 0.8 PE braid. Sure you can’t compare that to an longer high tech spin rod but 30 meters is in. No hassle. First I only used it for creek and stream fishing with very limited space. You have to nail those casts. The length comes in handy. But I also started to use it fishing in great lakes, on a boat, from big boulders and rocks on the shore. You can take this guy. It’s a dependable companion. It is soft but that aids to the cast ability, and after having some 30cm+ chubs and trouts on the hook you see the tip bending down you’ll think you have to take it easy but this little fella is ready to take on any fight making you believe you hooked a giant, leaving you and the rod screaming for more. The quality is good, the rod works perfectly in balance with reels up to 1500. An hook attachment built into the rod would be nice but not necessary. Guides and reel seat are very good for the price. That make me conclude that this rod definitely exceeded my expectations even when I started to push it to its limits. I own a lot of rods and reels which probably have one guide being more expensive than this rod but I haven’t had that much fun with a rod for a long time. Great value/price. Good job!
