Superman - Animated: A Little Piece Of Home [DVD] [2005]

A well designed cartoon, with vivid colors, and clear distinctions between good/bad. There are four episodes in this DVD:1. "A little piece of home:" Lex Luthor finds a green rock which drains Superman's powers and decides to use it to his advantage.2. "Speed demons:" Superman and the Flash compete in a charity race around the world, while a villain called the Weather Wizzard threatens to unleash a hurricane that will level Metropolis. The heroes join forces to stop him and become friends.3. "The late mr Kent:" While digging up a case, reporter C. Kent is blown up. Presumed dead, and functioning only as Superman, he now must uncover the villain (a criminal police chief) and restore himself to life.4. "Where there's smoke:" Superman pursues a thief with pyrokinetic powers only to discover that she is pursued by a rogue government agency which had held her captive to use as a weapon.All episodes are highly entertaining. The Kryptonite episode has the right amount of suspense, the relationship between Flash and Superman is evolves naturally and is fun to watch, even the pyrokinetic Volcana is likeable. Only the one with Kent's death and the police chief turned murderer, is quite unsettling and younger kids will find it incomprehensible. For that one alone, I wouldn't recommend the DVD for kids younger than 8.

I am sorry but this is as close as anyone in the UK can get to seeing the animated superman series without a Region 1 DVD Player. the stories are OK but if you are a fan of the comic then they all seem familure. But as a fun show it is a good version.

Nice story lines. Dry humour. Glad it's not "dark".

Bought this for my five year old grandson, he didn't seem over impressed with it. Story lines a bit boring and sound very quiet even when turned up very high.

I ordered this for my son and he loved watching them over and over.A year later he still puts the on the odd time

My four year old Grand son loves this stuff - Good quality and gets the message over with out all the uneccessary violence.

my son loves superman and we have watched them about 40 times !! ,storys good and they are not to long

Again it 's Superman.I love the cartoon and the illustration format is GREAT!I love the story line and it's great fun for all that love cartoonsThanks.
