A coworker had one. I used it on stripped out bolts & had to have it. Works when all else fails. A must have item for your toolbox.

The Vampliers. Designed primarily as a screw removal tool, but also packs wire cutting capability. It is beautifully designed and the jaws are built to grasp a screw head both vertically and horizontally. Nice ergonomic handle. They list some exceptions regarding the screws you advised to use it on. Time will tell how versatile and rugged this tool is. I make my tools work for a living. It is made in Japan not China so I expect the quality is high. I have been faced with enough worn, buggered, rusty screws to want some options in the tool box to keep the work flowing. Looking at it I expect it will pull damaged nails as well, you know those finishing nails with the head gone.

These are well crafted and are really nice for gripping small or striped screws cant go wrong in buying these VAMPLIERS

These work great for small screws with damaged or stripped drive recess - screws from 1/16" dia up to about 7/32" [#2 to #12]. But if they're rusted fast for the past 50 years, it can be a struggle. And for bolts 1/4 diameter and up, traditional extractors may be a better choice. It depends on how stuck, or jammed the screw is. But for those smaller screws, this tool is a lifesaver.As a bonus, the semi-curved jaws work well on those spring-type tension hose clamps, the type with 2 'ears' you need to squeeze together to release. Although you can get a special tool for those clamps, these work well and you save buying yet another tool.

Just got these and already don't know what to do without them. They make removing stripped screws a breeze. The grip on them is amazing. They are a little expensive but so worth it.

This is one of those items Amazon recommended as I was checking out. After a quick read of the description I added it to my order, figured I may use it someday.I finally had a stuck and rusted pan head screw with a stripped Philips head. I remembered this thing, got it out and carefully gripped the screw, out it came. I have used it on maybe 5-10 similar screws, if it can grip the head it has worked every time. I have used it for a few other tasks suited to the special round tip and it has worked great.This is not some Ronco 47 in one tool that does many things poorly and nothing well, it is the real deal and built like a quality tool from any of the big name manufacturers.

I did not expect these to work. I had driven a screw into a hole that it just did not want to go into; I’d predrilled a pilot and the other screws were going in no problem, so I kept forcing and eventually the screw sheared. That thing was crazy stuck in that hole. I tried a bunch of other things for probably 30 minutes, including, of course, standard pliers of all kinds. Yet within 5 minutes these pliers had it out. Super impressed, they really work.

Heard the engineer brand was essentially the same, but the equivalent engineer didn't have the cap. Ordered these and the larger engineer model. They are both fantastic and are my new favorite tools. I managed to get a very stuck bbq screw off with a combination of both of them, but the second screw required my oscillating tool. So they won't magically open every rusted annoying screw. That said they are great for a bunch of purposes and ignore the reviews that say they are equivalent to dollar store pliers. These are heavy duty tools. That look and feel great and serve a unique purpose. I'm keeping both as one really needs both sizes. Highly impressed. Think the larger vampliers are probably overpriced. But they are worth it. Note. The engineers and these are so similar that I don't think they are a copy. I think they are made in the same factory. Like identical in design. Either brand is a good choice.
