Durable, perfect size!
These cells are amazing for starting up some quick seedlings! There are a lot of them, so I ended up using an entire one just for lettuce, and so far, I've gotten an amazing harvest this season so far! I wish that it came with some sort of drainage tray just for indoor planting, but it worked well either way.

Good value for the money
This set is a bit deeper than the previous one we found, so we expect it to allow the plants to grow larger before we have to transplant them.

Not much room for roots
April 2024 update: Don't use these trays! I believe they are toxic to my plants. The chemical smell never did dissipate, but I gave these trays a chance because so many of my decades-old deep trays are falling apart and I need more planting-out trays for peppers coming out of their starter trays. The first photo shows three trays of peppers, similar varieties, all planted into deep cells on the same day. They all received the same nutrient and watering regimen. After less than a week, I noticed yellowing in some of the leaves in this tray (second photo), then plants started to die. (I have almost NEVER had that happen once seedlings were planted out into grow cells, and I have planted literally thousands of seedlings over the decades.) After a couple more weeks, the stunted growth in this tray as compared with my old trays was glaringly evident. You can see that in the first photo: the plants in the two old trays are much healthier and more robust than in this Yard Yard tray. I am anxious to get these peppers planted into the garden before I lose any more. I just hope they outgrow their precarious beginnings. Fortunately, these peppers are the only food crop I planted in these trays. I have started annual flowers in two others, but I will be getting them into the ground as soon as possible so that I don't lose any more of my hard work.*************************Original review: I got these trays because they are deeper than the standard of this size cell. I was disappointed to see how narrow the cells are at the bottom. The whole point of deep cells is so that seedlings don't always need to be transplanted to larger pots during their early development. With these trays, the roots will be wrapping around themselves in no time, because the cells are only about 1/2" at the bottom. That will also make getting the seedlings out of the cells more difficult. The other main complaint is that they smell very strongly of plastic, almost toxic. If that doesn't dissipate, I won't be bringing them in the house at all and I certainly won't be starting edible plants in them.
