Compared with other CYO scooby books, this storyline fell short.
We were a little disappointed with this one. We have read all of the Choose Your Own style Scooby books and tried again and again to get a story that we liked but when comparing it with other books, this one really seemed to just keep veering back into the same ending. Or not ending at all. One of the endings (the first path we chose,) just ended with Mystery Inc. giving up and not solving anything because it started raining. That was it. Then another dead end where they were inside a crypt with the monster just outside and it just ended. Another where they drive away chasing the culprit, but no catching him. Like these were meant to be cliffhangers on a book that didn’t have a sequel. Why?When we finally got to an ending where they unmask the monster, it’s the most obvious character, and several paths follow back to the same exact page/ending. It just seemed a bit lacking. I’m sure this author has lots of fantastic titles, as the writing (syntax, dialogue,) was not bad, but the story just wasn’t there. We enjoy the titles authored by Laurie B. Sutton the best. Though she seems to really want a Fred/Velma relationship we (me, my now 7 year old and 3 year old) noticed.

Disappointed with this Scooby-Doo You Choose Story
My 7 year old son loves Scooby-Doo books. I remember reading choose your own adventure books from when I was young, and I thought my son might enjoy this book. This You Choose story doesn't have endings that resolve the stories in different ways, rather they seem incomplete and just end without saying who the villain is. My son just kept asking what happens so we'd start over and still there was no reveal at the end. The stories don't seem to be well thought out and the writing is a bit awkward.
