Great for my harley road glide
Replaced my flawless shocks with Monroe Max-Air MA785 and they do the job really good. Some modification is required. If you are a bit of a jack of all trades you ll figure it out. If not see a mechanics and your all set for a smooth ride

good air shocks
this is the second set i have bought for custom applications. the first being front air ride shocks for a golf cart & these for custom air ride for the back of a harley. no disappointments . i did not use the air lines supplied but rather bought adapters & ram DOT air lines &fittings that would be used on a truck. no leaks !

Good shocks but don't run with no air.
The ride wasn't bad, but from the day I put them in I had a leak. I thought it was in my plumbing somewhere but hadn't been able to track it down. The last time I was out the leak got progressively worse and I couldn't keep air in the shocks, they would bleed down in a few seconds. As it turns out, the weld for the upper mount has cracked/broken and peeled back the body causing a leak down in seconds. The shocks have under 500 miles on them. I called Monroe and there is no warranty on them apparently. I looked on Advance Autoparts website to price them locally and apparently they provide a 2 year warranty, so I will probably buy them local to replace this one since I can't warranty the ones purchased on Amazon. The other option that I will more likely go with is a Gabriel 49304 as the reviews I've read say they have better fit/finish and also a lifetime warranty and are only 12 bucks more. https://www.amazon.com/Gabriel-49304-Hijackers-Air-Shocks/dp/B001AMEEPO**EDIT**Upon receiving my Gabriel shocks, they were blown out and wouldn't hold the bike up with any sort of weight on it so I returned them and bought another set of monroes, I didn't like how the lines routed on the Gabriels. When I got the new set of monroes they leaked like the originals. I tried and tried to find a leak and couldn't find one. Finally one day I shut the fluorescent lights off in my shop when there was no traffic and just listened. I could hear a faint hiss I couldn't hear before. It wound up being the brand new Viair gauge leaking from day 1 internally. That being said I'm happy with the shocks and changing my rating to a 4, only because if you ride with no air in them they will crack the welds and because the sleeves are not perfectly round to get an aftermarket bushing into.

Almost perfect for an AirCooled VW beetle
Edit on December 2023They are 3 months old and one of the air shocks blew where the bellow meets the lower part of the shock with only 40lbs in them.I called Monroe and they stated that they have an “out of the box warranty” which means after you take them out of the box there isn’t a warranty.I’ve ran Monroe shocks for years but won’t any longer. Absolutely disappointed with the product, they should last more than 3 months at 40-50lbs.Original review:These air shocks work almost perfect for a VW beetle. My rear torsion bars were a little weak and I needed just a tad of lift and stiffness. Had to drill out the top bushing slightly to fit the shock mount bolt and trim the bushing on the bottom flush with the shock. I only have to run 40 psi to obtain the stiffness that I wanted.Definitely worth the money.

Installed on 2005 Electra Glide Ultra Classic and ride is excellent!
Seriously, these ride much better than the stock air shocks on our 2005 Electra Glide Ultra Classic.Note that the stock bolts will not fit thru the eyelets on these shocks so I also installed a set of the Energy Suspension 9.9105G 4-Bar Bushings. These are a pita to install but worth the effort. When I ride solo, I set pressure to 60-65psi. I weigh 240lbs and 6'2". When 2-up with the Mrs. I set to 70-75psi and bumps are smooth. Now I need to fix crappy front end lol...

Great product, great price!
I used these air shocks, slightly modified, which is why I only gave 4 stars on the install, on a 2006 Harley-Davidson Sportster. The motorcycle now rides almost as smooth as my brothers 2003 Harley-Davidson Softail Heritage Classic.#TrueStory

Worked for a while.
After I had these for a short amount of time, they started leaking air. Also, it was difficult to get the air pressure to 100 psi. Like I said, they would be down to about 20 psi in 3 days. Can't stop what I'm doing every 3 days to refill these with air.

Great ride
I bought these for a 07 HD Electra Glide they work great when im by my self i let out a little air when me and the wife go for ride put a little more in BEST MOD EVER. Used a cheap air pump from Wal-mart and a tee with a 2 way value and a switch on the dash/Added this 2/6/2016Have had these on the bike for awhile now only problem that i have had out of these is that the provided air lines leak alittle air over time wish they had compression fitting to help stop air leakage other then that add great ride quality.
