If you have been eyeing the famous (and very expensive) Parfums de Marly Layton, do yourself a favor and buy this instead. It is an absolutely incredible alternative that gets you the luxury vibe for a fraction of the price. Right out of the bottle, the standout feature is the dry-down: it settles into a beautiful, rich vanilla that smells incredibly high-end. Honestly, it actually comes across a little smoother than the original designer version, which is a massive win. A quick tip for the best results: If you find the projection or staying power a bit light at first, don't worry. Fragrances like this need about 6 to 8 weeks to "mature" after you spray them for the first time. Letting the bottle rest and oxygenate will naturally deepen the oils, making it last significantly longer on your skin and project much further. Even just 5 days in, the scent itself is fantastic. Highly recommended if you want that premium Layton style with a smooth, beautiful twist!

This is just my experience. Skin is different and body chemistry can alter the performance and longevity so please only take my review of the scent itself into consideration. I have never smelled PDM Layton, so this a review based strictly on this scent. To start, I hate vanilla scents. I consider myself a scent freak with a big nose to prove it. I’ve traditionally hated vanilla scents, but this hits different. I’m not walking around smelling like a latte or white chocolate bar, this a very mellow and smooth vanilla. The initial spray is strong, the vanilla is hidden behind a deep fruit and woods. Projection is strongest in the first two hours. From there, the dry down is like nothing I’ve experienced. Hours 2-4 is when a creamy and non-oppressive vanilla begins to shine through. I wish I had words to describe how much I enjoy it. Hours 4 and on, at least for me, this is mostly a skin scent only noticeable from an inch off skin. I recommend spraying on clothes for longevity and projection-it will stay for days on end. But it last forever on skin and I can smell it when water hits my skin the next morning in the shower. The bottle is shaped like pregnant woman and the cap is cheaper than my grandmother at a flea market, but this scent is well worth the price. I highly recommend. Smells like straight apple and vanilla which is a good thing. This would be a safe blind buy. The only con is the performance it doesn’t last super long. But for the price it’s worth it and you can’t complain. Smells pretty close to Layton by pdm as well. For any fragrance collectors I think it’s good to add to the collection.

I picked this up after hearing it’s a dupe for Parfums de Marly Layton. The scent is definitely in the same ballpark — sweet, spicy, with a warm vanilla and apple vibe. It’s cozy and wearable, especially in cooler weather. Performance is solid for the price. I get around 6–7 hours of wear, which is more than I expected. Projection is moderate — not a room-filler, but people close to you will notice it. That said, the opening can be a little harsh and synthetic. It settles nicely after a few minutes, but the first spray isn’t the smoothest. Also, the bottle design and sprayer feel a bit cheap.

Desde la primera pulverización, Detour Noir transmite elegancia y carácter. La combinación está muy bien lograda y se siente mucho más cara de lo que realmente cuesta. La duración es excelente: en piel supera fácilmente las 8 horas y en ropa permanece incluso más tiempo. La proyección durante las primeras horas es notable, dejando una estela atractiva sin resultar excesiva. Es un perfume que llama la atención y recibe cumplidos. Me parece especialmente adecuado para otoño e invierno, así como para salidas nocturnas o eventos especiales, aunque también puede usarse en el día si se aplica con moderación. Tiene una personalidad envolvente y sofisticada. Por su calidad, rendimiento y precio, merece sin duda las 5 estrellas. Una compra totalmente recomendable.

Amazing value for money. I can't compare it to Layton as I have never experienced that fragrance, but I adore the smell of Detour Noir, and definitely agree that it is much akin to apple pie with vanilla ice cream. To me it is heavenly. My first initial impression was not as positive, but after a few weeks of maceration, the scent improves immensely and to me, it is now easily one of my favourite fragrances. The bottle is hideous in design though, atomiser is great. Lasts a good amount of time on skin and on clothes.

Voor het geld een hele goede parfum, schijnt Layton te klonen maar die heb ik persoonlijk niet dus kan niet vergelijken.
