Lovely Book
This book is fantastic! I have made so many dishes from this book, the most ever from a single cookbook. Everything turns out beautifully and you really feel as if you are cooking from scratch with the best ingredients. Lots of additional info on the recipes such as storage, alternatives etc and loved the family stories too. One of the best books I have ever purchased. I would love to visit the restaurant ~ maybe next time I am home in Scotland. 🤞🏻😀.

Fantastic Cookbook, heads and shoulders above the usual celeb offerings
As a frequent visitor to Aviemore we love popping into the Mountain Cafe. Almost all of my favourite dishes from the cafe are in this book, they seem easy to recreate and great descriptions and info supplied. This will be my new favourite cookbook as it covers everything from breakfasts, lunch to baking and other tit bits. The beetroot and chocolate cake was made today and was a huge success. Courgette Rosti being made for tomorrow, hope it's as good as the cafe. Wish the recipe for the flatbreads was in this book but you can't have everything.A great cookbook from a really talented chef and her team.

My favourite cookery book.
I came across this cook book after reading a review about the Mountain cafe .Although I live in the highlands, I rarely get over to Aviemore, consequently I have never visited this cafe. This is about to change ! I LOVE this book the recipes are wonderful, I've only had it a couple of weeks but everything I have made so far has been wonderful, and my vegetarian friend adored the burgers. This has become my favourite cookery book, and I will be sending a copy to my daughter in Dunedin NZ I know she's going to love it too.

You've tried the pie, now read the book.
The Mountain Cafe is Aviemore's most upmarket budget eatery. You used to be able to have a leisurely Sunday breakfast and read the paper there. Nowadays they're often too busy for that to work. There can be a 30' queue and buzzers are issued to those waiting. All the above is down to the quality and variety of the food. If you've eaten there and enjoyed the corn fritters or whatever; this book by the Kiwi owner will enable you to have a nostalgia trip when you get home. Some weird stuff in there as well - salad dressing made from tinned condensed milk and vinegar anyone? (Probably much better than it sounds.)

Well-thought out recipes - taste amazing!
Loving this book. Already a fan of the Mountain Cafe itself, and these recipes make feel as though I'm there. I've cooked about 8 recipes so far - everything has worked perfectly, without being overly complicated. Some really good advice about how to use leftovers, cook in advance and adapt recipes for gluten-free diets. Also like the little bits of humour and life story of the author/ Mountain cafe that are interspersed throughout.

A Kiwi Chef, another talented Scottish Chefs. It’s only tome before a Michelin Star!
A magnificent Kiwi Cook Book from one of the most talented Chefs Scotland. The book is well organised and simple to follow with every recipe is unique and personal by Chef Kirsten Gilmour - who by having the good sense to settle after meeting a true Scot, Scotland has a new gem stone to be proud off!

Love It ! You will not be disappointed ...
Fantastic book....great range of recipes. Interesting , diverse nice twists to add depth and flavour. The last cook book I bought was Nigel Slater and I'm loving this as much. You can tell it's been written by someone who has worked in the industry for years and is happy to share the years of experience rather than a "fluffy celebrity" .If you are looking for a great cook book this is it...am debating which of my friends will get this as a gift ...spread the word ...a book of substance!

Schottland-Feeling
Symphatisches Buch, die Rezepte sind leicht nachzukochen und lecker. Lässt Erinnerungen an unsere Schottlandreise wach werden (wo wir uns oft bei Regenwetter in ein Café geflüchtet haben).
