We all know there are professional hairdresser shears out there, costing ten times more. But I can assure you they are not ten times better. They may be better, but not ten times. I am not a professional hairdresser but I have been doing haircuts for friends and family for 30 years now, both men and women. I tend to prefer working with microserrated scissors because I like a straight clean cut. I hate the effect of thinning scissors. I have also worked with normal standard blades scissors but ever since I got my first microserrated scissors from a professional hairdresser in Switzerland in 1995, I never looked back. Some will say that's because I'm not a true professional... But it's also a matter of taste as I explained.Having said that, I can tell a good quality microserrated pair of shears when I get one in my hands, and this feels really solid, tight (yet smooth) and very sharp! How they will be 25 years from (like my Swiss shears), I can't tell... but they do feel now like they are built to last.They are not offset, which I think makes a more comfortable usage but, considering I used them seldom... That's fine. Also, if your fingers feel too tight, you can always remove the rubber rings. But please bear in mind that the rings exist not just for ergonomic reasons, but also to protect from nickel skin reactions (not uncommon).The only thing that truly annoys me is not finding any info regarding the metal/alloy these blades are made of. I obviously don't expect this to be ceramic or Molybdenum at this price but, I'd like to know this is at least a good cobalt or preferably stainless steel alloy.

I'm am not fond of going to the hairdressers, so I purchased this little tool so I could trim my own dead ends. Nice and sharp as far as I'm concerned. Takes away the anxiety and expense of visiting the hair salon, when all you want to do is keep your ends healthy with a little, subtle trim from time to time.Used them on my hair and others, a few times, and they are still providing a sharp snip.
